View Full Version : Have you ever really wrecked your gaming stuff?

I'm talking about whipping a controller through a TV screen, pounding the top of a console in frustration and busting it, snapping a disc in half, or something like this:

When I was four years old, I was playing Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, sitting up against the wall of my toy room making my way through Wario's Castle. I made it to Wario but could not beat him and ended up losing all of my lives I'd earned through roulettes and whatnot, getting a game over.

I was so pissed I smacked my forehead straight into the screen and the game turned off. I looked down and there was some black stuff starting to seep through the newly formed cracks in the screen.

When I realized what I'd done, I was so scared that my parents would find out and I'd get in trouble but eventually I told them it just broke and I wrote a letter to Santa asking him to take my Game Boy with him to the North Pole and fix it. Instead I got a Game Boy Pocket to replace it and I still own both of these today. :)

So anyway, anyone else have any horror stories about mortally wounded consoles/controllers/games/TVs?

I did the same thing with my old brick gameboy (I don't remember which game I was playing and got mad about), I told my mom I dropped it and it broke so she bought another one at wal-mart and switched them out saying that the broken gameboy came in the package like that and she got a second new one in return for the broken one...and that is how one broken gameboy of mine became two working gameboy (one for me and one for my sister to use).

I also headbutted the back of a Bulls Vs. Blazers snes cart and cracked the back but it still worked fine after that.

I'm telling Wal-Mart what your mom did!!!

I don't remember why but I broke a Sega Genesis.

I've beaten up my NES a few times, threw my controller at my SNES because of the infamous Secret of Evermore glitch (the game broke as a result) and I snapped a game in half (I fail to remember it's name) because it pissed me off to no end.

I had a nasty temper as a kid.

Man, talk about anger problems.

Even as a kid, you really have to figure, it's all just a game.

Take a look through these threads:

Ever been mad enough to break a controller (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105631)

Games that you actually destroyed on purpose (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20668)

I think this is just what theChad was looking for (without knowing).
