Top 5 Games of the holiday season...

So what is everyones pick for top 5 game releases for this holiday season. When I say releases, I mean released between Oct 1-Dec 24. Also, top 5 games on the PS3 - XBOX 360 - Wii, not handhelds.

I love my Alienware, but it does scare me. I am seriously afraid that it will beat me up in the middle of the night if i don't use it. I will wake up black and blue and see a trail of green led's going up the stairs like in the movie Akira.

- Call of Duty: World at War (it looks like giving Treyarch as much time as Infinity Ward is given is actually panning out. Plus CoD3 wasn't that bad and Big Red One was way better than CoD2)
- Far Cry 2 (I know it's not by Crytek, but it's from the peeps responsible for Far Cry Instincts and it's on hardware that can actually handle it this time. Win!)
- Civilization IV: Colonization (Oh god, if there's one thing I loved as much as Civilization back in the day, it was Colonization. Now remade in the Civ IV engine? Fuck, the only reason I may not buy this is because I'm trying to go through Civ Rehab)
- Left 4 Dead (Turtle Rock isn't exactly a proven developer, but the advance word of mouth is fucking fierce on this one)
- Valkyria Chronicles (Word of mouth on the import is that the game is every bit as awesome as its graphics)

Runner up being Dead Space, but I think I may just be hyped because I love the way they're pushing the franchise out across multiple mediums. Going to pick up the comics and check 'em out and netflix the cartoon before the game comes out.

Why would you hope it sucks?

I'm just bitter from the first one. It was the reason I bought an Xbox and then it only took 9 hours to beat. I had read so much about how it was going to be this deep rpg, a Morrowind killer even (my favorite game at the time). I even had a friend tell me Fable is what Morrowind should have been. Oh man, so so wrong.

Plus, Molyneux has a habit of making a lot of promises and then not delivering. That bugs me and I'd like to see him get hit for it (not literally).

Oh you should have learned your lesson after Black & White, just like everyone else :(

Besides, he gave us the gift of Syndicate, and for that we should be forever thankful. Every day we're graced with his glorious presence is a truly wonderful day.

If you ever find yourself disappointed by any of his latest offerings, simply fire up Syndicate (but not American Revolt!) and remember that somewhere, deep inside that bigger than life ego of his, resides one of the finest game designers ever.

edit - and let's not forget that Magic Carpet was originally supposed to be a super hero game with the player flying through cities and such.

I wouldn't mind giving the new Guitar Hero a run through, and there's some stuff that has come out in the past few weeks I want to play. But all of this holiday's "Big releases" don't do much for me.

Well, I dont think this counts, but due to a tight budget the really one "new" game I want is Mega Man 9 for the Wii. Luckily for me, only $10 :)

The other game that I am looking forward to is the 360 Namco Virtual Arcade collection of like 30 games. It looks decent.
