Bahh... blasphemy. PC Engine version for life.

Actually, this looks pretty neat. The 3/4 angle looks lame, but I'm intrigued by the Arcade mode. What is that? It moves as if it's your head moving or what?

It looks neat anyway :)

As cheesy as it sounds I'm actually loving the effect for Arcade Mode. The enhanced graphics look sharp too and don't seem to take away at all from the classic style of the original.

I'll definitely be purchasing this.

R-Type and Super R-Type on my wii are headed for the SD card.

I think the On-the-fly mode looks pretty cool. Reminds me of the side-scrolling levels in the Dreamcast Ecco.

Didn't they do this years before, as R-Types on the PS1?

This actually looks pretty cool in my opinion. R Type 1 and 2 in HD? Online co-op? Instant buy!

They did the series well. The 2.5D comments scraed me a bit, but after seeing it, it looks pretty decent. I have a friend that will want me to buy this with him on day one.

Nope, I dunno why anyone would think that, it's pretty clear that R-Types for PS1 was just plain ports of the original 1987 R-Type and 1989 R-Type II, while R-Type Dimensions is a total graphical remake of those games for XBLA. It has the ability to switch graphical presentation on the fly. Has added 2-player gameplay offline or online. This is hot IMO, and I'm sold.

It's also got the 'security' of having the ability to play the games the way they originally looked with the arcade's sprite-based graphics, for those that don't like the new look.
