I want to run the Daphne emulator for laserdisc games, but I have no idea how the hell to properly utilize it. Every time I try to use it, I get this error crap:

Bad command line or initialization problem (see daphne_log.txt for details) (Note: Somehow, I don't have this text file. Foo.)
To run DAPHNE, you must specify which game to run and which laserdisc player you are using.
For example, try 'daphne lair noldp' to run Dragon's Lair in testing mode.

................ erm... yeah. Help. o_O

Okay.

While I'm not an expert in diagnosing problems with Daphne, I use the emulator on a VERY regular basis.

My first question is - did you get the latest build directly from the official Daphne site and let it completely download the Dragon's Lair/Space Ace/Dragon's Lair II images?

Second, what OS are you using? It runs best in XP, and is mildly problematic in Vista (but it can run once you get it set up right).

Third, do you have a licensed copy of Dragon's Lair/Space Ace/DL II on DVD that you used to activate the commercial license to use Dragon's Lair, or are you using some other un-licensed image files?

Questions aside, I'd suggest going to the official Draphne site and checking their forum for answers, they're really great about helping in my experience.

And once you do get it doing the basics properly, I implore you to install this to get the best versions of the available LD Image files:
