So, I was comparing the prices between Gamestop and Amazon and I saw many of them were cheaper at Amazon. But, I have noticed they are used. I am not really comfortable with buying used games online because of the chance that it will be scratched like crazy and unplayable. So my question is, is it worth the risk of an unplayable disk to save money, or should I just wait until I find it new somewhere for less. Also, should I take into consideration their feedback?

Read the descriptions and speak with the sellers. I love amazon. I rarely deal with gamestop but use amazon and others all the time prices are better and I've rarely had a game that was unplayable or in bad shape (you can always resurface as well)

I can only assume from the title you are talking about Amazon and not GS. As for Amazon, I don't buy a used game unless there is a description of the item, and not just some "IN STOCK NOW FREE FIRST CLASS SHIPPING".

OK, so should I trust them if the description says Used-like new.

Also, any bad or really good experiences with Amazon.

(Also, I reworded the thing alittle so it should be clear now.)

if you get something that does not match the description, then you can leave negative feedback

it also helps in general to find a mom n pop game store that has a high-quality disc resurfacer

You can always message the seller and ask for a picture. If it isn't an online store then they should have no problem doing so.

any bad or really good experiences with Amazon.

I've bought several games on Amazon over the years (including just over half of my Neo-Geo Pocket Color collection) with no major issues.

Amazon recently(?) introduced a fixed shipping system that makes it my go-to place for buying books, cds, and games. I'm hoping they'll be able to take some business away from eBay. Sucks that they won't ship electronics or video games overseas though :(

I buy ALL my games, movies, and CD's from Amazon. You can get ANYTHING on there and it's usually 1/3 the price of it used or new locally.
But yah, read the descriptions... some will say "CD only" or "scratched but plays ok"... I avoid those.

Just like anything condition is subjective. I have purchased things from Amazon and Ebay were the description is "Like New" and when i received or ask the condition it is missing the map or the label is peeling or some other damage.

Like New or any condition has different meanings to people. I always email asking specifically the condition. I actually have a text file i keep as a shortcut on my toolbar i can click open, copy and paste my questions to the seller quick and easy.

Other than you have to be very inquisitive if condition is a concern but i love buying from Amazon.

QFE!

I buy off of amazon, and anything that does not say the condition of the game, regardless of price, I always avoid.

As for good prices, my brother got me Halo 3 Legendary from Amazon, and then told me how much he paid: 50.47 including shipping.
It was sold in the new category, not used.

Too bad the fixed international shipping rates for third-party sellers are so annoyingly high. But at least they're consistent, unlike eBay.

I had two bum deals fall through on Amazon recently, but Amazon's support was on point.

For the first one, the guy sent me the French version of a game when the listing and shipping manifest both clearly stated that it was the US version.

For the second, the dude just never sent me the damn game.

On both, I tried contacting the sellers to no avail, waited about a week-ish for them to reply (you know, just in case), and then finally just went through Amazon's simple little claim filing process. Absolutely no hassle whatsoever to get my money back, really.

Compare that to eBay where I've been screwed twice so far and both times wasn't able to get my money back.

Just remember to contact the seller if you have any questions whatsoever about what's included with the item and what condition it's in. The good sellers will get back to you within a day or so and give you the full skinny. If it doesn't say it's missing the case or manual, then it never hurts to ask. Don't forget to double check to see if it's an ex-rental (you know, covered in stickers and such).

I love buying used games through the Amazon Marketplace as much as I love preordering a shit load of budget games six months out and getting free shipping on all of them. <3 <3 <3 <3 Amazon

Only had one mishap with a seller on Amazon, and they fixed it right away. I had bought what was listed as 2 new PSP UMD movies. Well, I only got one of the movies, it wasn't new, and it was a DVD. The seller just refunded everything :D

Amazon is the way to go for new games. Almost always shipped and tax free, often times a few bucks cheaper, and some amazing deals come around. If I'm buying new, it's probably at Amazon.
