Saw it at TRU - Wondering if anyone got it and were they impressed?

The Nintendo Power review made it look good but 1) I haven't played it, so, no first hand knowledge and 2) It is, afterall, Nintendo's magazine.

Well, it should be noted that NP is no longer run by Nintendo, though it is officially licensed. They seem to be a little less biased now - apparently they recommended the PS2 version of Okami over the Wii version. I think in the past this would've triggered the apocalypse.

I've had shake it for a few weeks now and i love it. If your a sucker for 2d platformers then its basically insta win.
If you have played the GB/GBA wairo land games then that's pretty much what you can expect but with polished visuals and smooth controls.
Also it has a similar difficulty to mario galaxy where it wasn't really in finishing the game, but the extra challenges that each level has.
Personally i love it, and if your a previous fan of old 2d platformers, i bet you will too :D

from what I have played of it, I was pretty impressed. The graphics are nice and polished, music is great and gameplay is often fast paced, even the puzzles often require moving very fast without stopping. The boss battles are what I look forward to the most in each world as they are very well done.

Been thinking about this game but I wonder how much I can play it. I can only play Super Mario Galaxy a little at a time due to problems with my hands. Shaking the Wii remote seems to really make the problems with my hands worse.

I got it several weeks ago, and I'm still digging it, though I have done my playing in two or three level chunks at a time... I would imagine a dedicated player could get through the whole thing in a weekend, though the sub-missions in each stage would probably keep completist freaks coming back again and again.
Stuck on the World 4 boss, the plant monster... anybody got any tips?

does anybody know what the aspect ratio of this game is? I know I was a little more than put off when I read that the game doesn't feature a widescreen option (why, I don't know), but from the pictures I've seen the sidebars look a little thinner than the normal ones you get when viewing true 4:3 on a 16:9 set, and I know the games sticks your info in those side bars. So I'm wondering does the image take up the whole viewing area on a 16:9 set, and the side bars were intentional to display info, or are the sidebars and the gameplay area crammed into a 4:3 box with black bars on the sides still?

The gameplay window remains at a 4:3 aspect ratio when playing in widescreen, the excess space is utilized to display information outside of that 4:3 window.
Edit - At least thats what G4TV said, it sure doesn't look it to me on screenshots. Looks like the gameplay window is much larger than 4:3, just like you said.
