For the heck of it, I purchased an auction of ten (new, as described) hucard sleeves from a seller on ebay. They arrived, and amazingly, they really were new! They are official sleeves, and you can tell a hucard was never in any one of them. I ended up ordering 60 more.
I have to wonder how someone could have gotten these however? All I have ever seen previously were those sellers that take the hucard sleeves off of their games and sell them separate. Sometimes they are in good shape, sometimes they are yellowed or gross. These must have been old Turbografx unused stock. Either way, freakin' awesome. My games look so good now :)

He originally had a quantity of ten (ten pieces each auction) and I purchased 70. Before that, he had another auction of the same, so I have to believe the guy has much stock of these sleeves. I would guess he'll put some more up shortly. Great seller. It was $14 total shipped for each set of ten, and a half price shipping discount if multiple lots were ordered. I had to cover up sixty hucards (well, like 40, but the other twenty sleeves I had looked kind of old), and I grabbed an extra ten because I know I will be needing them down the road.
EDIT: Found a thread about it over at pcenginefx:

Apparently this seller has a stash of goodies. Cool!

They are pretty spot on, but they are not official sleeves. As the various external threads explain, Diskounters which was a pretty good TG16 game seller in the late 90s and early 2000s had some custom manufactured 5-6 years ago.

Wow, I am holding one of the new ones side by side with one of my old ones, and they are exact in every way. Same seams, plastic material...just crazy!

Yep. There aren't a whole lot of ways to make plastic sleeves. My recollection is that the guy from Diskounters (I think his name is Brian) just took a real sleeve to a local plastic bag manufacturer and asked them to make a large quantity of what he gave them. They had no problem doing so.

That's cool. See, it would take an outlet like Diskounters to accomplish something like this, because they most likely had to buy these created sleeves in some serious bulk. I'm sure they sold a whole lot too. I saw that they were selling them in 2002 for 35 cents each!
Either way, it really rocks when someone goes out of their way like that. The sleeves are great, and I highly recommend anyone looking for sleeves (or simply replacements for those old yellowed sleeves) to look at this seller. I'm more than happy with them.

Sorry, all gone. Check ebay. They appear periodically.

nevermind - i actually found the original seller who is no longer on ebay. He opened up a local shop in Chicago, and going to have a website soon. Let me know if anyone is interested.
