TEN YEARS AGO!

Ha! I was just going through some old video game mags and found the one where our fanzine was rated #1 by Electronic Games magazine (for the year 1993). Ah, the old days.

This page is from the May 1994 issue. I started writing for Electronic Games magazine an issue or two later. I really should dig those up next.

Yeah well it also says something about "intelligent and informative". So they either got me confused with someone else or they were smoking crack. Not that it matters, WE'RE NUMBER ONE! Woo HOO!

Interestingly, I just got some back issues of EGM from 1994 and 1995 but not that particular issue. I did glimpse through a few and noticed ads from companies I used to buy from...BRE Software, Chips & Bits...I seemed to stop after I discovered the internet. Interestingly, I just ordered a PSX game (the first You Don't Know Jack for the system) from Amazon.com and one of the buyers selling it through them was BRE...so I chose them out of "nostalgia". It was always nice reading about those gaming zines though I guess they couldn't do reviews like that now. There probably aren't enough being published today to even fill up a page.
