Has anyone tried this set up,
Classic Console RGB Scart -> DVD (Scart Input)
DVD (Component) -> CRT TV Component / LCD Component ?

I wonder will this work for 2 scenarios or is this even possible?

1) Without upscanning therefore CRT TV
2) With upscanning for LCDs

Here is the DVD player that I am eyeing that has the Scart input:

PIONEER DV-300 MULTI REGION

This may be one of the easiest ways to do RGB from classic systems without doing the XRGB, Jrok, or CSY RGBtoYUV (I get a curl in my image on my TV with the CSY)

Thanks,

Most likely not. Most TVs won't have a transcoder in it. That's a semi-unfounded statement, so take it w/ a grain of salt.

Why bother if you're displaying it on an LCD? It will look like crap anyway.

Well I have a LCD with a RGB Scart input and yes it does look crappy. Finding a CRT with SCART or RGB in the States is a little tough unless I shoot for a Commodore 1080 or 1084. Those commodore monitors due to their age probably don't have the greatest colors if I buy them used. If you know of a CRT that can accept RGB at 15 khz please let me know.
