not much more than any other model, that audiophile myth is a load of crap :P it may be a good CD player but it is not as good as one that costs 6000$. audiophiles can be very stupid :P

Well I see normal PSX's for like $15 but hardly ever one of those models for less than $45. Besides those lasers suck ass, I had to replace mine twice before I had to install a new sled for the cd drive but now it is perfect!! They are awesome, if it wasn't for my PS2 w/ component video I would use my 1001 all the time as the audio is 100% better.

I did however get both of mine for less than $10 as the seller didn't know what he had. One for $10 and one for $5

The basic PS1 models are all $10 or less. Only limited editions, net yazoza's and debug systems are worth any real scratch.

If you can find (or want to sell that one) for $10 let me know as I haven't ever seen them for less than $45 unless the guy didn't know what they had due to all the audio junkies out there LOL

The recent auctions on ebay show the most expensive one selling for 39.99, and the cheapest going for 9.99, neither including shipping. That was using 'scph-1001' as the search term.
