Help: How to backup a GBC game

I got a proto of Dragon Warrior 3 that I would like to backup just in case. But I've tried looking online and I couldn't find anything very helpful so I slapped myself for ever thinking that I could find information on my own rather than just asking here.

Could anyone help me out about what I need?

i know how to burn roms to the official flash carts, i'm not sure if you can get them back off that way or not...
