Ok, I'm doing the show hall by hall this year, so Here are my first impressions of the West Hall: [EDIT] screw it this is as I call it.
GAMES THAT YOU SHOULD USE GAMESPOT'S GAME TRACKER FOR: Viewtiful Joe, F Zero, Starfox, Pac Man, Metroid Zero, Mario and Luigi, The Suffering, Gran Turismo 4, DDR Xbox, Halo 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and MGS: Twin Snakes, Sam and Max: Freelance Cops. More to come.
Nintendo: Viewtiful Joe is one of the raddest looking games around. For reals yo. Pac Man for GC is pretty rad. The person playing pac man plays it on the GBA screen, while the three other people are Ghosts that watch the tv (with limited visibility). Pokemon Puzzle Collection is cool, it's doctor mario, Pokemone Puzzle League/Tetris Attack, and Yoshi's cookie, plus other stuff. It's a GBA game with GBA connectivity. Speaking of which, there's a ton of GBA/GCN connectivity stuff. Metroid Zero looks rad too. Crystal Chronicles is so so, but the graphics are great. Oh yeah, there's a wallace and grommit game that looks cool. The models actually look like claymation characters, and the game looks like a 3D puzzler (think Lost Vikings type stuff)
Sony: Gran Turismo 4 looks pretty good. I was wondering how much they could improve on, but the graphics do look a lot better, but the game everyone needs to look for is THE SUFFERING. That game is aw.esome. It's kind of like Silent Hill, but in a prison. look at Midway's page for more info. They also had the Eye Toy. The only thing that was cool about the Eye Toy was this soccer game where, depending on where on your head it touched, it would bounce according to the angle, and that was pretty cool. BTW, the MGS3 video we saw here was real, and it looks awesome. It takes place in the early 60's, so it's a prequel. Oh yeah, and Castlevania looks good, but doesn't look very fun. I hope it is, though.
Sega: Sega has Sonic Heroes, a new Sonic for all three platforms. There's also a new Altered Beast coming out, similar to a 3D final fight; looks good, but not that impressive. Sega had some cool stuff, but I can't remember any of it, so you'll have to wait for tomorrow.
Halo 2 looks rad, Xbox DDR is rad (no word yet on the features), Doom 3's coming along nicely.
In Kentia hall, there was a New handheld called the FreeOn. Check out www.freeon.co.kr . It's retarded. Really. Ngage is retarded too. The Sony thing sounds rad, and will sell just for it's mp4 capabilities (assuming it doesn't require a proprietary format). There are competing media players that play on the GBA. The one from AM3 ( www. am3.co.jp) is k-rad. The one from whatever-I-can't-remember-the-name-cause-it's-retarded is retarded. Um let's see, what else... Oh yeah, I saw Jerry and Mike from Penny Arcade, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, KobunHeatForum, and Todd McFarlane, in that order.
Pictures to follow.
No offense to retards. I mean retarded people. I mean mentally handicapped individuals. Most of you are way cooler than the products I compared you to. The rest of you are we todd it (you know who you are).
I was a little toasty when I wrote this.
