We've received a couple reports this evening that some copies of the Fable II Limited Collector's Edition (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/fable-2-collectors-edition-now-cheaper-less-desirable/) package do not contain the cards required for the in-game DLC content (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/07/fable-2-lands-oct-21-in-us-oct-24-in-europe/). A GameStop source tells us a company wide email notes that cases bearing an orange "48 hours of LIVE"' sticker include the cards, but copies without the sticker do not.

Although we've only heard about this being a GameStop issue so far, the same situation could be occurring at other retailers. We've contacted both Microsoft and GameStop for comment.

Allegedly customers are being told by GameStop to contact 1-800-4MYXBOX if they receive a copy of the CE without the card inside. We contacted the number and were informed that it was the correct place to call if we didn't receive the DLC card in the box. Midnight launches start in about 15 minutes on the East Coast, so we'll probably hear more about this issue soon.

[Thanks to those who helped with this.]

To make sure: So the collector's edition got stripped of the five cards, the figurine, and the additional box??? This would leave only the making-of DVD, the downloadable content, and the Live trial card.

Also: is the downloadable content on cards? if so, is it on the Live trial card or are these separate cards?

I was in line at GameStop and the guy in front of me was buying the Collector's Edition. The guy at the counter told him that they were missing the sword code and just gave him the number for Microsoft and told him all you have to do is tell them you're missing the sword code and they'll take care of you from there. I laughed as I purchased the regular edition.

Assuming you get one without the card, you are paying $10 extra for a different cover (which doesn't look that good) and a making of DVD that you will watch once. The additional content requires the card with the code, so I am hopeful they will address this issue quickly. Very, very disappointing.

I just checked my copy; I've got one DLC card but no Xbox Live trial. My case doesn't have the "48 hours of LIVE" sticker and I bought mine at Best Buy. I'm in Canada though, so it's possible that the LIVE promo was a U.S only thing.

I just want to know if for the downloadable content (DLC cards) there are one or more cards in the set. It is for this RPG LIST (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123589) I compiled.

I think you guys are mixing up "cards".

There are 5 tarot cards, that originally were going to be in the set as far as I know. These are just tarot cards, no DLC information etc. (I did not get)

Then the DLC comes on your standard peel off this tab to get your code card.

Then reading what some get there's the try Live cards as well (which I did not get).

I received the DLC "card", I purchased mine from Amazon the 22nd.

edit: And also no figurine, and what was extra box? I had a cardboard cover over the disc case I believe that looks like that.

The figurine, Fate cards and LE Box were all scrapped. 'cards' that would be coming with this are a download card with a code for armor/weapons and in some cases a Free 48 hours of XBL. All the stuff in the intial posts picture that has red x was canned at the last minute due to 'supply' issues.

I was going to skip the "limited" edition. But then my husband went and surprised me with it. I feel kinda bad he wasted $10 but it was a sweet gesture. However my DLC card was missing. :P
