You forgot to mention that they're advertising those games as being "Online Enabled" when Microsoft unplugged XBL for original Xbox games.

Gamecube...ah, they sure do hold their value huh?

He's now asking $25 for Wind Waker, even though it looks like he has Twilight Princess.

I thought $25 for Wind Waker seemed high, but checking ebay... what happened?
I don't recall paying very much for a copy at GameStop last year.

But $25 is a good price for Twilight Princess GC, right?
(better than me, who paid GameStop $35 for a copy without the manual)
(I know the Wii version is now $20 new, but thank Nintendo for not including GC controller support in that one, legitimizing owning both versions.)

$25 is going rate for Wind Waker now (as you discovered) and a good price for TP (*giggle*) tho not an amazing deal or anything. If I had to hazard a guess as to what happened, I'd say the fact that Gamestop doesn't still carry Gamecube games coupled with the re-release of Ocarina on 3DS is making people want to go back and play some of the older stuff. And unlike Four Swords Adventure, people remember the game fondly. (Seems like Four Swords' price has gone up a little bit too, btw.)

"Please People don't waste my time, I know what this stuff is worth and the NES collection has taken me a lifetime to Obtain."

Yo, Vinnie..... you clearly do not know what your "stuff" is worth. Plus it took a lifetime to obtain an NES and a bunch of games, most of which are worthless and suck? I'm pretty sure I can start from scratch and put together a better collection in a few hours on ebay.

"Most of theese games are clasic's and hard to get."

First of all, might want to spell check buddy. Secondly, most of your games are certainly not classics, but a dime a dozen.

I haven't scoured through his entire list to see if he truly has any rare games, but I agree, a $200 collection. Most of it is junk. Why do I let Vinnie get me all worked up?

It's more like a $600-$700 collection, though I can see it costing him $1300 if he bought everything individually at game stores where copies of games like Zelda are $20-$30 each. Nothing really rare, but still good stuff overall including an NES Toploader. Not worth the asking price though.

I am not an expert, but the "Nintendo Top Loader System" he is selling does not appear to be a real Nintendo top loader, but a knock off that sells new on Amazon for $16.85 shipped.

http://www.amazon.com/NES-Retro-Entertainment-System-Black-Nintendo/dp/B002RYLG4Q

I just don't see anyone paying over $200 for the lot. Certainly not a collector and by no means a casual gamer. He "may" be able to score $500 or $600 if he sells the stuff individually, but seriously, it's a lot of common stuff. For chrissakes, you can't give away a N64 and Genny 2 these days.

I didn't notice that the Toploader wasn't official, I thought he had another clone system also included but it seems you're right. It's a $600 lot then.

There's about 90 NES games there including the Game Genie, bundling them with the system and you could get around $400-$450. Both Zeldas, both Metal Gear games, some Castlevania games, Double Dragon Games, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Metroid, Mario games, a couple Mega Man games, a Ninja Gaiden game, Pac-Man, Tecmo Super Bowl, Ghosts and Goblins, Ninja Turtles games, Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers, Tetris, etc. Those are good games, anyone starting out would like a lot with those games together.

The Genesis stuff could sell as a lot for $80-$100. I don't know what DOOM he's talking about, but the other games including Contra, Shining Force, Lethal Enforcers with Justifier, Captain America, Battletoads, Road Rash series, Desert Strike with Jungle Strike, Mortal Kombat 1&2, and Street Fighter II would be decent enough for anyone just getting into it. There's a minimal amount of sports games included so it would be desirable to someone.

The N64 bundle would be another $100. Most of the games would be $10 each, but as a bundle it would sell for $100 as there's 4 controllers included.

You can't sell N64s anymore? It might depend on the area, but I don't have any problems selling N64 systems. A system with hookups and 2 controllers for $30, or a system with expansion pack and 2 controllers for $40. I actually just sold a system with expansion pack yesterday for that much, I had it listed for 2 days before it sold. N64 systems seem to sell within 2 weeks for me.

Genesis systems don't sell well individually, but I can sell bundles of them within a couple of months. I don't include games as good as Contra or Shining Force but usually a system with 20-24 games for $80-$100 will sell. It might take a couple of months but it will sell.

I hate people that list stuff on CL and don't put a price but then say "I know what this game is worth so don't try to lowball me". If you know what it is worth, then why don't you list a price?
I hate this so much. SO MUCH. Someone near me is selling a Genesis bundle with a 32X and a bunch of good games and is asking for offers, I asked how much they wanted for everything and never heard back but they keep reposting the ad. I pretty much ignore ads without any prices listed now.

Let's see if I can post in the correct thread this time.

This is a little bit off topic but I thought I'd ask here. How would you sell an item on Craigslist when the other person wants to see it on and working in person, but not have to show them where you live? I can't think of any public meeting places where you would be able to plug in a random extension cord (at least not nearby, no flea markets within a hundred miles) outside.

This was specifically related to a large (30 inch LCD) display I was looking to sell, where people are SUPER picky about discoloring and dead pixels, but could apply to anything electronic that needs to be plugged in, like say, a Vectrex.

I live out in the country so there's not really anywhere other than business that might have power outlets outside.

Get a power inverter for your car, they just plug into the cigarette lighter socket.

Could one output enough power to run both a large LCD and a broken old laptop with no working battery (to output video to the display)?

Could it possibly draw enough power to damage the car? Or would the car's fuses (or perhaps even a fuse in the inverter) prevent that from happening?

I never used one myself, but it should work fine.

^I love how he says it's $15 for all 3 N64 games, which are $5 a piece. First of all, thank you for the math tip and secondly, has this guy ever heard of giving incentives for buying in bulk?

And lmao@awesome condensation. That's not even trying. This guy has to know the difference between condition and condensation even if that was a spelling error, too. It's like he just let his fingers and brain melt at the same time, while he got halfway through the word and was like "cond...coooondddiiiensation screw it"

There's lots of bad grammar in that ad, but I don't blame him for totaling the price for people. This is craigslist afterall.

I was selling some brand new software for Macintosh. I made sure to mention this in the title and throughout my ad, and the picture showed the box with "Macintosh Edition" in big letters on the front. I get a reply from someone asking me to phone him to arrange pick up, I phone him and he asks me to confirm that it will work on Windows XP. He was surprised when I told him it wouldn't work as it was only for Macintosh. After awhile you get used to replies like this.

Most times when someone asks me to phone them or to give them my phone number it doesn't work out, though I still attempt to try just in case.

No Starbucks?

I never understood the "my kid moved out, lets toss all his worthless junk" attitude from a lot of parents. My mother wouldn't get rid of anything of mine that I might have stored at her house without asking me nicely first.

Edit: I just noticed the SNES PowerPak in there. This "kid" can't have moved out too long ago.

Still, nothing beats the $150 toaster NES with SMB/DH and Mario 3....

Yeah. Some people on craigslist seem to think that the NES is some super rare artifact. I see them going for $100 plus (usually with a game or three) on craigslist quite often.

I took several Criminology courses in college from the same professor, who stated almost weekly that "without agreement on definitions, society cannot function".

As a greenhorn collector you quickly discovery how people's definitions of "like new" and "good" can vary so widely that it boggles the mind.

The same guy also has other ads where he's looking for rare and expensive items cheap for his "brother-in-law" and his "daughter".

...and also this bizarre gem:

doing a research project English class and we have to present one of our favourite Artists, and display why and how they've impacted our(my) lives. i chose Linkin Park, and thought it'd be a great idea to display every Linkin Park album up-to date on a red display boarD [along with their raw lyrics printed out and pictures of course]

....so far i have Hybrid Theory, and Re-animation, i seem to have lost all my other ones from borrowing them to people to get them hooked, but forgot about getting them back :(.....This project isn't due for another 2 weeks so i still have some time...

Really excited about this project so if you can help me out by lending me your unwanted linkin park albums that are just collecting dust, it would help out aLot ! . even if you sell me a couple albums for like 5 or 10$ i\m willing to do that aLso ! .

I can even come pick them up . emaiL me ! . thanks in advance
