Hi guys,

I just came back from Japan and bought a Japanese 360 there to play the latest shoot'em ups.

I had a couple of questions,

First, how do I setup an xbox live account to access XBLA Japan?

Second, is there a list somewhere of the games available on XBLA Japan? I can't seem to find any on the web.

Thanks,

Stephane

From my understanding you're going to need to have a Japanese mailing address (or zipcode) in there, and you'll need to use Japanese MS points to buy games, since your American CC will have an american street address and they won't accept it.

Well, since this is kinda my specialty.

To set up a Japanese account

http://www.gamersreports.com/article/19/

Pretty much follow those instructions.

There is a list online for the games, its on the japanese Xbox website. If you want though if you look at my gamertag I have all the japanese xbox 360 games that are listed with a different gamer_id on xbox.com.

I'm currently working on an official list for it.

If you want to download the games you will need a japanese points card that is available on sites like play-asia.com

The good thing is that you can play all the import XBLA games on a US 360.

Sorry the newb question but can I check your gamertag from the web or do I need to login with my 360?

OK I figured it out. I am in your gamertag on Xbox.com but how do I check the other user_ID to check the Japanese games?

Well, some of it is hard to understand and describe.

If you go to www.xbox360achievements.org and click on the imports selection, it will list most of the import titles. I just refered to my tag as they are on there.

Also, if you bought a Japanese 360 the only benefit is to play Japanese Retail Titles, like Raiden Fighters and Raiden IV. You don't need a japanese account to play these games, you can take your HDD that is on your US system with your gamertag and use it on the japanese system. The only time you need the Japanese account is if you want one of the Japanese XBLA games, not the retail titles.
