Hi all,

I've been searching for some PSX race game some time now. I played it a long time ago, so I don't remember the name.

There are a few elements I remember:

It was a bit futuristic, not flying vehicles or some sort, but cars equipped with guns and stuff. It wasn't a battle game though, so no Vigilante or Twisted Metal or some sort, you really had to race on some tracks!

I also remember the music, it was a bit harder, some sort of metal. I can remember one bit of a track, that I have in my head now and then.

So, no Destruction Derby, Wipeout or Ridge Racer... S.C.A.R.S. had no music in it I think?

Another thing, it was a PAL game, and I don't know if it was released NTSC also but I guess so?

Anyone?

Perhaps Red Asphalt? It was called Rock & Roll Racing 2: Red Asphalt in PAL regions. It's definately futuristic as you select from different species of drivers and race in an intergalactic death match. I always admired the art direction of Red Aspahalt. The vehicles were wheeled and sported front and rear firing weapons. As I recall you were rewarded with seeing some blood on the track after killing an opponent, but I was disappointed to find they would re-materialized after several seconds. I also recall the game being dark looking and the main menu interface was unnecessarily difficult to figure out.

Then again, both Rollcage racing games were also available in PAL, if driving armed four-wheeled vehicles on the walls and ceilings strikes a bell.

Cyberspeed & Hi-Octane aren't correct I think.

Rock & Roll Racing, could be, I'll look for some reviews/youtubes/...

Rollcage ain't right ;)

*edit* Thanks a lot! It was Rock 'n' Roll Racing II!

Luckily someone put all the music on youtube ;)
