Are there any games from your past that you think very highly of, or is insanely fun that no matter how often you mention it people have just never heard of it before? I'm thinking one of my favorite games from the more popular consumer home systems (NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.) that falls into this category is Haunting starring Polterguy (genesis). You get to haunt and control objects in a house to scare out its occupants complete with a priceless 90's plot and bonus levels with changed gameplay.

Anyone have any obscure titles to share with the rest of us that people for some reason or another have let fall by the wayside?

happy collecting!

Street Racer for SNES. One of the best Mario Kart clones there is, however, the most fun comes in the bonus game where you pretty much play bumper cars trying to knock others off a ledge. 6-player link-up too I think. Spent hours of this one and mention it all the time but I've never heard anyone else talk about it though.

Aerobiz is great too, but it does get mentioned somewhat.

I played the Mega Drive version of this game, it does support four players but the control detection is not very good. Unlike the YuYu Hakusho Sunset Fighters that has a amazing control detection, to bad that this was not one of my favourite games ...

It was very nice when TecToy had sealed copies of games to sell!

Street Racer was not much expensive. YuYu Hakusho was one of the more expensive games, another was Shining in the Darkness. Maybe some games were more expensive because of the translation, since the content of the game cartridge was "passed" to Portuguese language.

SEGA Master System.
Sonic Blast and Virtua Fighter Animation were other games into the budget price tag. Plastic boxes.

This is the YuYu Hakusho game localized for a Brazilian release.
The game seems nice, has some (bad quality) voices and it is four players simultaneous versus game. The story is very good (for the fans of the animation series) or absent if you like better, the plot is the YuYu Hakusho Dark Tournament but there are some screens and characters from the Sensui ark. The backgrounds are from the animation series, it is even possible to re-play the game after a first victory on the Dark Tournament but into the second play the player will face fights against three enemies !!! I do not know how the Toguro brothers were supposed to beat three enemies at a time on the animation ... Sure the special attacks could hit more than just a single enemy but ...

This was one of those odd games that almost each of the characters have boss strength since most of the cast are the bosses or enemies into some part of the story.

Not very obscure, but slightly obscure: Herzog Zwei

Although Herzog Zwei is not truly obscure to the Mega Drive/Genesis fan, it is kinda obscure to the average gamer that pretty much only knows Genesis for Sonic, Streets of Rage and other top-selling games.

Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt... It's about a possum who wants to save the environment from the pollution that this guy Dr.Machino is causing. It's a little like Sonic, only more environmental.

Most of my friends had never seen or heard of half the stuff I've had over the years.

Generally I'd get "WTF is that?". And even more blank looks when I answered "PC Engine Duo R". "Why is your Saturn white?" is another good one. The Candy Cabs seem to boggle people's minds a bit too.

But I have educated a fair few of my mates. A couple appreciate the absolute wonder of Metal Slug and know what CPS2s, Atomiswaves and JAMMA connectors are now.

As for obscure games that people now enjoy, I'd say Pulstar, Blazing Star, Last Blades and Garou: MotW. You wouldn't think Metal Slug was obscure, but only one of my mates had ever heard of it. Bless their hearts.
