I recently picked up a model II SCD and got the extender to allow the Genesis I to fit on it without sticking out past the Sega CD console, it has the mounting plate and the screws. Any guesses as to whether it's worth selling with the SCD console or should I hang onto in?

Should you keep the extender? Judging by the lack of responses, probably not. j/k.
If you are selling the whole system, it depends on if the buyer has a Genesis model 1 or 2, and if they have a model 1; if they want it or not. The extender provides stability with it, but the Genesis 1 is pretty stable even without it, so it's not really necessary. Without it, it just looks weird.
If you are getting rid of the Sega CD, I don't see a reason to keep it. As far as I can remember, every time I have come across a CD model 2 it has had the extender. So it is not something that is uncommon. Also, it only serves one very basic function, so there is probably little value to it by itself.

The adapter is called Extension spacer.

And in my case, this is only the second or third time that I've seen that extender. My own Sega CD system came with one; but most loose sets I find don't have it.

I've seen 6-8 Sega CD 2s in the wild, but never the extender. I would consider them a bit scarce, but that doesn't mean they are worth much. The model 2 is kind of the least attractive way to play Sega CD IMO, so less demand. If I did happen to want one, I think 20 shipped would be about what I'd expect to pay. I'm just pulling that out of nowhere, though.

I didn't think they were valuable, and quite the opposite to those of you who see them all the time, I have never seen one before this one. I sold the console but kept the spacer since it doesn't seem to help prices much on Ebay.
Thanks for the info though guys.
