What are some of the dumbest things that people you've dealt with on Ebay have said to you or done...whether they were a buyer or a seller? I've been selling on Ebay for awhile now, and I've definitley had some dandies. Trust me, none of these are made up or over-exaggerated...despite how ridiculous and hard to believe some of them are:
I sold a $1.00 NES game to a lady, and it got lost in the mail. After two weeks went by and she didn't receive it...she emailed me and said she was going to take me to court! Over a ONE dollar game! I gave her the buck and she shut up.
I've had many people buy insurance on a cheap $1 or $2 game.
I had one guy buy a game for $5.00. He sent a money order to me OVERNIGHT EXPRESS MAIL for $20!
I had a guy from Sweden buy a bunch of Nintendo Power magazines, even though I clearly said in the auction description that I wouldn't ship out of the country due to the weight of the magazines. He said he would pay whatever the shipping cost...which turned out to be $400.00! He actually paid it too...$400 shipping for $80 worth of magazines.
I had a guy email me once and ask if the NES could play SNES games.
A guy emailed me three times in a row once (all the emails were only about 10 minutes apart from each other), asking the same question. In the third email, he also asked why I hadn't responded yet.
It's very common for someone to email me only two days after they won their auction and ask why they haven't received it yet.
I had a guy buy a complete SNES system from me once. He asked how I would be shipping it, and when I told him I would send it through USPS, than he started freaking out. He demanded I ship through UPS instead. When I told him I don't ship through UPS, he said I either send it that way, or he will give me negative feedback and report me to Ebay for having poor customer service.
I had a guy win something from me once, and he didn't pay. After 5 days of not hearing anything from him, I sent him an email to remind him about payment. He got pissed off and sent an email back, cussing me out. Than he left me negative feedback saying I was very rude and offended him greatly.
Well, those are just a few of many dumb things people I've dealt with on Ebay have done. Anyone else have some stories to share?

Just yesterday, a buyer said that her fiancee suggested she send me pictures of her boobs because she was a bit late with her payment.
I refused, politely of course. And wondered to myself what kind of a guy tells that to his girlfriend...

I've had both the insurance on a $2 game, and the overnight MO costing 20+ bucks on a <$10 game.
Not entirely dumb, but most asshole thing was I won Golden Axe Warrior CIB for about 10 shipped a year or so ago. They said they shipped it, but I never got it. Money was refunded, but then the same item was re-listed under a different account with the same picture and same spelling and grammatical errors. Grrr!

Why refuse? I mean, if she's late, she's late. You deserve something for your troubles, and she offered...

I do this, no matter what the value is. Not because it's priceless, but because when an item is insured, the probability of arriving quickly and in perfect condition is very high (from previous experience). I know it's dumb, but I put insurance on everything.
I had one guy buy a game for $5.00. He sent a money order to me OVERNIGHT EXPRESS MAIL for $20!
Hehehe! I guess the guy really wanted the game! Now THAT'S a customer! :p
I had a guy email me once and ask if the NES could play SNES games.
My response would have been "Yup, and it also grants wishes". :p
The most I've had are sellers who have no idea about how shipping via USPS works. As stated in a post I made at Atari Age:
"I have had Ebay sellers refuse to ship to me (even after I paid) because they think PR is international. I have to try and explain to them over and over again about PR being a territory with same shipping methods. Most, around 99% realize this and help. The other 1%, the ones I consider the stupidest of the stupid, either don't believe me (even with proof...what more proof than the USPS website itself?) or think I am lying. To those, I am quick with the neg. In one occasion Ebay had to intervene and tell the seller that i was correct. He shipped but was not happy...only to apologize later by saying "You were correct...I am very sorry"."
Oh, and that brilliant seller I mentioned about in a previous post about returning my money back because he thought I was changing address when all I was doing is warning him about Paypal and how it cut's my CONFIRMED address. Sigh...

That reminds me of a story I read recently (http://shesoghetto.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/elderly-woman-arrested-for-keeping-rude-kids-ball-thrown-in-her-yard/). Some kids knock a football into an 88 year old elderly woman's yard, she keeps it and so she's in trouble.

True, but if all she has to do is return the ball, why not simply do so?
It's a stupid incident, but she could have avoided this entire headache.

Probably some kind of skewed way of trying to teach the kid a lesson.

I could write a book.
The one that jumps out right now is some retard that hit buy it now for some game then emailed me and said "his friend hit his arm and he accidentally hit buy it now" and that he wouldn't be paying.
Or some jerk frmo France that wanted to save on shipping so he paid for the service that takes 6-10 weeks, then filed a paypal complaint after 2 weeks. Of course his English was awful and I couldn't communicate this fact to him.

I always state that I do not ship outside of the country in my auctions. I had one guy from the U.K. ignore my message and win my auction for a large nitro powered rc truck. He paid for the auction immediately after it ended and that included my $15 shipping charge.
I emailed him back and told him he would have to pay the difference for me to ship it out of the country. He kept arguing that I stated the shipping is a flat $15. He couldn't understand that the $15 shipping was for the U.S. as CLEARLY stated in the auction.

I know, I have been swamped with work, weddings and birthday parties so I haven't had time to update. The dumb emails don't stop and here's a new one I got the other day.
Some guy buys a youth-sized large Celtics basketball jersey from me and sends this message:
HI! I receive the item today and it's look great, but the only one problem is about the size, it's wroten Large, but I don'T think that was the good size, because it's very small with me, I got a lot of jersey with the same size but there is no problems with the size. I'M not angry but I just want to know if there wasn't no error with the size. So Thanks a lot and thank you for your excellent communication!
Of course it says "youth" in all caps in the title, item description and item details, and there may have even been exact measurements. I can just imagine some guy trying to squeeze into a kid's jersey and wondering what the problem is. I'm sure I'll get a neg in the end, because the buyer is always right.

Wow, where do I even began........
There was a dude from Germany that asked how much shipping would be to him and I sent him an email saying it'd be atleast $15 but when the auction was over I would get him a more acurate quote. He won and after getting his address shipping was $24. He refused to pay and kept insisting I told him it would be no more than $15. He also left me a negative but the best part was that I left him a negative in German after using one of those google translaters to curse him out.
Another time I told this chic I couldn't send her the item because her paypal address was unconfirmed. I refunded her money and explained to her how I got burnt by doing this before. She begged and pleaded(but never offered to show her boobs....just saying) and I said no. So then her other friend(some dude) started emailing me and telling me how his friend was trust worthy and all this other bs. I still said no but I told him he could pay for her as long as his paypal address was confirmed and it was so he did.
Then there was a time that I won a sealed Dreamcast from a dude. Everything was fine until he started emailing me asking to leave him feedback. I told him I would in alittle while so everthing was still fine. But then a couple days later he emailed me again....and again. This went on for like two months and I had to report him to ebay for harrassment. Stalker.....
And then theres my porn auctions. As you all know, ebay doesn't take paypal for adult auctions, so you have to accept checks, m.o. or both. I only accept money orders and always highlight this in a different color and capitalize every letter. But some dudes just don't get it. So when I get checks in the mail I send them back and email the person telling them why I don't accept checks(I was burnt on them too). Well one dude had a hissy fit and sent me all these mean emails about why his checks are certified gold and are not a scam or rip off in anyway. We dueled in emails for a couple days until I finally gave in. But I made sure to get a tracking number just in case he tried to be shady.

Especially now that ebay won't let seller's leave negative or neurtal feedback. It's like they've given all the power to the buyers.
