I downloaded it from the European PSN last week. I really enjoyed it, which is surprising since despite being the biggest JRPG fan, I usually don't like SRPGs. I'll definitely be picking this up at some point before the year's over, probably for Christmas.

Same here....I had seen screens and gameplay videos before actually playing and while the art style was impressive it really didnt appeal to me beyond that. But after playing through the demo stages I was really impressed and will definitely be picking this up on or before christmas as well.

I'm the opposite :P I was fairly sure I was gonna like it before I played it, and I did :P Definately give it a try. The skirmish isn't that long but it's still fun and the tutorial + the unit descriptions before the skirmish tell you everything you need to know ;p

Except that funky looking weapon after the tank mortar, thats it's machine gun, use the mortar :P

note: don't send units right infront of them they will be raped :P

Did you play Operation Darkness? VC looks like a "good" version of it, which is awesome because I really enjoyed Operation Darkness despite it's insane levels of suck. If you've played it, how does it compare?

I just got around to trying out the demo and I came away very impressed with it. If I hadn't just preordered Resistance 2 (and with Gears of War 2 and Left 4 Dead looming) I would be considering a purchase more seriously.

I wanted to like Operation Darkness, but the demo left me cold. From my very short time with both, this feels like a more polished version of OD, albeit one where you can't transform into a werewolf. I do like the fact that each character had their own traits or "potential" that seem like they'll help develop their personalities over time.

Has anyone seen the Gamestop exclusive art book? I generally don't step foot in Gamestop unless I'm feeling particularly gullible or compulsive, but the art style is cool enough to warrant a second look if the art book's decent. Then again, the fact Amazon is $3 cheaper, includes a $10 gift card, and doesn't charge sales tax is pretty hard to beat.
