Yea I found one of them at Goodwill today, so I was just wondering what it's worth if I could I'd take a picture it has some silly stuff on it.

It's worth zero, give or take.

$0.50, maybe $1 on a good day. I see it for under $1 all the time and the DVD is generally under $3.

Except for movies that were never issued on DVD due to various reasons (like rights), or old MST3K episodes. ;)

Demo tapes really ARE worthless, anyway. They're the movie, but they usually show a line that says "NOT FOR SALE OR RENTAL" on the screen every so often.

they hold some value to a collector of that genre, I imagine someone who collects horror movies would like to have it in thier collection, its worth a few dollars more then a normal copy of the tape to the right person.

It's not worth anything, the movie is far too common and not to mention already on DVD, and very few people collect/pick up demo/screening tapes. They're pretty useless for the reason Kitsune Sniper mentioned.

And this is why I pick up anime on VHS, either never released on DVD or just dirt cheap. If possible I like the LD releases since it's the closest to DVD quality you can generally get with older stuff.

That's the other issue, it's so common. And once again, it's only worth to pick up VHS if you're actually getting something out of it, not a wealthy resell market.

The only problem is that a lot of VHS tapes are dubbed, not subbed. But there's still quite a few gems out there!

Who the hell knew Howard The Duck (VHS) was worth $20, anyway? :P

I have a friend that would like to get Howard the Duck on LD if possible for a good price. As for VHS, he hates that format. He laughs that I even buy the format at all, but my defense is it's better than YouTube or most of what's available out there. Plus for a dollar or less why not? It has its redeeming factors.

Actually, in a few weeks there's a local animation convention and there's a panel for trading anime. I may bring most of my VHS tapes and see if anyone has some other interesting tapes or other formats to trade for. Maybe it'll be interesting or others will giggle that I have them. Nontheless, will be fun.
