About Warcraft 3

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope it's ok here.

I used to play the C&C games a lot (especially Tiberium Sun) and got sick of them a couple of years ago. I haven't played much of RTSs before (just a little Warhammer and Stronghold) but Warcraft 3 looks interesting.

How does it compare to the C&C series? Is it difficult/frustrating? Good online?

Warcraft 3 is one of my favorite RTS games, and the only one I still play. The story is decent, although I never played through it entirely. The online play is excellent though. There are regular RTS style games where you play against other people, from 1 v 1, to 4 v 4. Then there are hundreds of different custom games that are available, many are quite fun.

I definitely recommend picking it up if you like RTS games.

Excellent production values, great balance, great story - and if you play through the game on Hard mode it is extremely challenging. I've been parked on the last (Undead) campaign on the Frozen Throne expansion for a while now...always seem to get smacked down. It's way tough.

Play it; it's lots of fun.

It is a great game! Warcraft 3 and Dawn of War are the only RTS that I still play. Warcraft 3 is well worth your time and money.

its a pretty good game, its pretty story heavy so i recommend you play warcraft 2 (which is actually a better game in my opinion, but thats just mine). and read about what happened in warcraft 1. (warcraft 1 did not age well at all.. its pretty bad by today's standard)

i also personally hate C&C tiberium sun as well as red alert 2, however the first two games, are amont my favorites in the genre. C&C 3 is pretty good too, although the story isnt my favorite.

Starcraft is a pretty good RTS, so is empire earth (never played the second one though).

one RTS i HIGHLY recoomend is Warhammer Dawn of War, as i recall there isnt much of a good story, but the gameplay mechanics are amazing.

all of these games are really cheap on ebay these days, you really should just pick em all up and play/try them. worst thing that could happen you lose 10 bucks.
