This years predictions of winners and losers Winter 2008

Well, another year coming to the end, another holiday season almost upon us, and yet another flood of video game goodness. I thought I would start a post on what we predict on the winners and losers will be this year. The actual defination of Winner and Loser can be subjective...and can be defined differently to an individual. Anyone can say who they feel is successful or not this holiday...console, portable, or just a specific game. If we can just express our own opinions on this one and not flame others for who they predict that would be most appreciated.

I will keep my own opinions short and let others say their piece.

Winners this season

For Games: I think that Fallout 3 will be huge

For Consoles: I think that the Wii will still sell a ton

For Portables: I think that the DS is going to break some selling records.

For losers...I will just say one. In my own opinion, I see the Playstation 3 not making goals and being outsold by the Wii and 360

Thank you captain obvious. Don't get me wrong---I completely agree with you because the Wii and Ds have been kicking ass all year long while the PS3 barely managed to get into second place a few times this year, mostly being relegated to their last place showing. My choices are the same as yours, but I think Gears of War 2 will outsell Fallout 3. Other than that: "a winner is you":villagepeople:

I was mostly just using those as examples, there are so many games coming out, any game could chosen. Again, A winner and looser as said is subjective. It does not have to be just sales to determine who is winner and looser.

A system could be a winner due to best pack-in

A game could be a winner due to best value

A game could be winner due to having great replay

A console could be a looser for having a weak holiday lineup

True but thats how most people decide who comes out on top at the end of the holiday season. For instance, even though the PS3 will most likedly come in last place for the entire holiday season(just like the last 2 years) it will still have some games that sell over a million copies. I think Resistance 2 will be it's two biggest seller, but I honestly don't think Little Big Planet will sell as good as everyone thinks it will.
