Are ABC stores any good? I was in one years ago with my mom when she looking for a new VCR and I remember the sales guy being real pushy and kept adjusting the prices on everything. Doing stuff like "i can knock $20 off that for you today but today only" and whatnot.

Are they still like that or is ABC more like Best Buy and Circuit City where you just go in, pick out what you want and pay for it? I get the douche chills whenever I see an ad for that store for some reason.

They are still like that - at least locally they are. I hate them for that exact purpose. I feel like I'm being stalked everytime I walk in the door. I once walked in and bought a $2 item (some multitool or something). Anyway, they guy asked me if I wanted the extended warrantee. I laughed until I realized he was serious. Said "No" and HE CONTINUED TO TRY TO SELL ME ON IT. I finally grabbed 4 more (that I didn't need) and said "Here's $10. If one breaks, I'll use one of my 4 other ones. Isn't that a better deal than the $25 warrantee extension you're pushing?"

Ugh. I hate ABC Warehouse. I daresay that if they had Xbox 360s on sale for $50, I'd still think long and hard about going there to buy one. I hate 'em that badly.

Is there anything the core unit lacks other than a hard drive?

Cause the core unit is $199.99 now and you can get a 120 gb hard drive on ebay for $70-100.

Seems like the core unit would be the way to go, unless it lacks more than I know.

They don't sell the Core unit anymore. You're thinking of the "Arcade" unit.

But yes, the differences between the different versions of the 360 are kind of lame. Aside from the hard drive, the Pro comes with a headset and an ethernet cable, and includes component hookups (the Arcade only has composite). The XBLA games that come with the Arcade unit are not included with the other ones. The Elite comes with an HDMI cable and a larger hard drive (and is black). All of them now have HDMI capability, making the Elite a huge rip-off.

The only reason the Pro and Elite are worth it at all is because Microsoft seriously price gouges on the accessories (especially hard drives) if you buy them separately.

I think JoeWest (everytime I see his screen name I think of my dorm at SJSU) was behind on the times and missed all the 360 price drops that recently fell through the pipelines.
