I've been trying to get these protos for what seems like all year, finally sealed the deal and got 'em! here's what i got:

NES-
AD&D Pool of Radiance - tkeprom board, roms instead of eproms, label looks like my rescue proto
Snow Bros - skeprom board, i noticed some differences in this one (the text in the beginning story is a little different, the "$" signs are japanese writing in this version)
Magician- Tkeprom, nice company label
Talespin-skeprom
whomp em-tkeprom, typed jaleco label with jap. symbols
flying warriors-skeprom
hoops-another cool jaleco label, skeprom
astyanax-tkeprom
rocketeer-snweprom
adventure island 2-tkeprom 8/8/92
mendal palace - tkeprom, entire front of case cutout, hudson soft label on back
ad&d heroes of the lance - skeprom, roms instead of eproms
break time- 5/92 sjeprom
dungeon magic skeprom, same type of label as ybot's puzznic proto
rad racer 2 tr1rom-02 with eproms, ver. 0.1
faria, skeprom 2/14/91 nice company label

Gameboy-
solomon's club
out of gas
tail gator 1/24/91 title screen has "sample" on it
ultima-runes of virtue 5/14/91
"bandai tracy" (can't get this one to play)
mysterium, unlabeled

hal wrestling eprom
maru's mission rom
unlabled eprom

Genesis-
Blaster Master 2 2/9/93
Super Battle tank-war in the gulf
both with nice typed labels

Super Famicom-
SUper Baseball 5/27 shvc-2p3b-01 board, in super fami case, but eprom says "USA 5/27" on it.

i haven't played them much yet except for a couple, hoping for some differences.
not too shabby, eh? :)

If you're lucky Flying Warriors could have tons of differences. I'd get on that one right away.

Magician probably has the alternate title screen (slight variation on the protagonist's head) and Astyanax might have the topless boss' tits intact.

i realized that i don't have the production version of flying warriors, but i popped in the proto and it says "flying warriros" (seriously), so i would guess that its pretty early.

edit: looks like magician doesn't have the different title screen after all, the neck still looks a little wierd in the production version though.

It dosen't have a nice big cheezy looking superhero logo like the released version that says that, does it? Is it just a cheap text only placeholder title screen or something?

it's super hero style, but spelled wrong. i checked out astyanax and that boss does still have her boobs in this version. i also finished reviewing snow bros and found a few more differences, the title screen is missing the "(c) capcom 1991" on the top line; most of the items look different, i can't even tell what most of them are supposed to be; in the 1st level the top platform has a design of what looks like a clown, an elephant, and something else. the released version has a different design on it, a couple other levels are like that too.

That has to be the funniest prototype title screen I've ever heard of. Are you aware of how different the U.S. and Japanese version of Culture Brain games often are? You might have a really nice find there. The levels of FW were based on Hiryu no Ken 2 but the actual control and battle systems were ripped from the third game. I'm dying to know how much of the conversion to Flying Warriors was done and how close the proto is to either of the Japanese versions compared to the retail. Be sure to keep us updated on these protos.
