These folks were a popular phenomenon amongst the Sardius Experience/early Lost Levels posters back when the auctions first went live. Frank Cifialdi even wrote a blurb about their auctions for Nintendo's official UK magazine.

I just found this through Google:

Evidently the couple made an impression elsewhere on the net as well.

Oh dear lord, this is when games started sky rocketing in prices, I remember, everyone and their granny was trying to charge outrageous prices for common games at the flea market.

I don't buy it, these old timers were after the $$ and they figured they would jump on the bandwagon when previously they had said how evil they were i'm sure.

Money changes everything. Not cute or funny, just sad, show me some photos of them at some cosplay then i'll change my tune.

Do they know anything beyond what's drawn on the cover art?

Probably not. They're just selling the games and acting out what's on the cover. It's funny.

That's an interesting concept. I don't know if it would sway anyone to buy their games, however.

Does anyone know if this was a couple advertising the games as their own or did they say it was their grandchildren's, or was this like when people used that sexy type women to sell their games?

You know I thought along the same lines. I thought they were going to be talking about people in their 30s or 40s.
