And you probably already have the game to do it in, which makes it free....kind of. Very soon the next presidential hopeful and next vice presidential hopeful will be downloadable characters in Mercenaries 2: http://www.gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/0187C62F-4B0C-4D8F-AF00-D702ECBEB88E.htm
I have to admit this is very surprising, particularly because you could potentially kill(well, stand there and let them be killed) the next president or next vice president of the United States. I also wonder if this move will boost sales to the game once word of mouth starts to spread.
So what do you guys think? Are you going to take another tour thru Mercenaries 2 just so you can lay the smack down with Barack? Or maybe you want to glamorize the trenches with Palin.....I totally didn't know what else to say about herLOL Either way, I think this is a very interesting move. But it begs the question....why no McCain:?
This is something you'd expect them to have released a few weeks ago, not just days before the election. I also find it funny that you can play as Palin instead of McCain, so either they couldn't get approval for it, or they realized that nobody wants to be an asshole.

Ha, yeah, Palin instead of McCain... I saw a bumper sticker that said "Sarah!" and then in tiny letters underneath it said "McCain*Palin". If someone is voting for Palin then there's really something wrong with them.
McCain isn't an asshole though, far from it I'd say.

Funny you should bring that up. In this story it states that McCain had the same chance to put political ads in all the same EA video games as Obama did, but for some reason his campaign turned it down: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/obama-campaign-paid-nearly-45k-for-ingame-ads/?biz=1
So remember that when McCain loses--it's because he refused to place ads in video games and thus missed out on reaching a very key voter demographic. And it will be one of those rare times where us as gamers will welcome the media to report that video games caused McCain to lose, lol.

But somewhere during his campain he told people to "put down their gameboys." Also, since my mom is listed as an independent, she gets 3 different ads a day from his campain.

Because he would die too quickly in the game! It would be a sham to start playing as McCain with full health! :yipes:

Yeah, what he said. Also, I suppose this will be Sarah Palin's last 15 minutes of fame.

Thank goodness. She was very very annoying.

My big question is...is the game any good? I'm especially curious about the PS2 version. I glanced at the quotes on it at Metacritic.com and some sites scored the PS2 version, at least, very low. On a scale of 1-100, for instance, I think Gamespot only gave it a 35...or was that IGN? I forget.

I'll play as Palin only if I can shoot moose and see Russia from my house.

I plan on running for president in 2028. Can I count on your votes?

I like the first one a lot better but it's alright. The ps2 verson is pretty scaled down from what I've heard, things like not being able to damage trees in any way, less stuff being able to be destroyed (which is kinda major considering Merc's biggest innovation to the genre is probably the fact that every building is normally destroyable if you wish). There is also supposed to be a greatly reduced number of vehicles (although I didn't really see much variation of vehicles in the 360 version to be honest).
