View Full Version : Value of an almost-sealed game?

I just got in the mail a copy of Space Berserker for the Laseractive MegaLD. It's complete and sort-of or almost sealed, but not quite - the original plastic (with Pioneer's stock sticker on the front) is slit most of the way down the side with the disc, but with just barely enough left that it's not possible for the disc to have ever come out.

Is this worth any more than an open copy? I have to admit I'm getting sorely tempted to slit it open the rest of the way and play it, and for what I paid I'd not be disappointed about losing a "sealed" copy, but since it's an R7 game I figured I'd see if it would be considered a serious sacrilege.

My two zenny: nope. You won't find a "collector of sealed games" paying a premium for it, and that's generally what would give it an upward price bump. A collector who plays their games and wants them to be in the best condition possible will buy it, but not pay a premium for it since they're going to play it anyway.

Thats also like the ebay adds that say brand new only been played once. Not many people want a half sealed game.
