I was slightly worried about that too!
But what I am more worried about is Gamecrazy taking all the good games and selling them at their price.

YMMV but I hit the 2 around here and they both were having it.

this is not just a Florida thing. I'm in MA and I got Magna Carta delux box set, Megaman X8, Black, and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows for PS2 all for $4.00. They also have a 25% off all other used games and I got The Darkness for 360 for $7.50. All games complete and without the Hollywood Video case that they make.

So I would sumrise that if you have GameCrazy attached to the store, you're out of luck?

I think you might be out of luck just because, as we all know, the HV used games go over there for sale. Also I went back today and got a used 256MB 360 memory card for $15 and they had a sealed GBA Bomberman classic NES edition game for $5.00 so I picked that up.

Hmm, I need to track down a hollywood video in omaha now and check it out.

Also, check Movie Galleries, they should be running the same deal. MG doesn't make you rent anything.
The Hollywood video here sucked. :(

Hmm, no MG in Omaha. I don't even know if our HV is open anymore.
When Circuit City was having problems, they just pulled right out of Omaha.

YMMV is right. The four Hollywood Videos in my area did have a selection of PS2/Xbox/GCN games for $4.99 but it's not exactly a great selection. They all have a Gamecrazy and outside of a rack of throwaways all the games that would make this deal worthwhile are in the sister store for standard price.

A big THANK YOU on this one. I stopped by the nearest Hollywood and picked up a bunch of great games (see finds thread for list if you care). I even left stuff behind. I was a little surprised by their good selection since that store is practically on the U of M campus. I guess the college crowd isn't into GC games so much, because there was a lot more good stuff for GC than xbox or ps2.

you scored a few I wish I could find around here.
I checked the movie gallery and they had less than 10 games and all ps2/xbox sports.

Well, I went to another Hollywood Video sort of near me, and they weren't running the sale. The first one had signs up for it, but the closest I saw at this one was 'rent two movies or games, buy any used movies for 3.99 (11.99 and under)'. Makes me wonder if the sale is a mistake or something. I did ask the guy, and he couldn't find anything out about the sale in the computer, so ??? Of course, he looked like a games, so maybe he was just keeping it all to himself!!!

I think this sale varies by location/store. I went to my HV with a Gamecrazy (I'm in California) and not only did they not have a sale on games, they didn't have any games for sale at all. They only had games for rent.
I then went into Gamecrazy to see if there were any deals in there, but again, nothing.

I got lucky on this one.
We totally have the sale. Usually everybody else but Omaha gets the sale.
I got yesterday:
Mario Kart
Mario Party 7
Battlefront
Battlefront 2
Starfox Assault
Mario Sunshine
It is super tempting to go back.

Same here. Was disappointed, but was kinda expecting it.

I finally got to a Hollywood Video in South Florida, and they did have this sale going. Literally hundreds of games available, tho oddly enough not one Mario title, the Gamecube section looked fairly picked through. Ended up getting these games:
GC Super Monkey Ball Adventure
GC Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life
GC Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
XBOX Destroy All Humans
XBOX Shenmue II
XBOX Doom3 Collectors Edition
XBOX Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack
XBOX Aliens versus Predator Extinction
PS2 Bully
PS2 Robotech: Invasion
PS2 Final Fantasy XII
PS2 The Bible Game
PS2 Reservoir Dogs
PS2 Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixer
PS2 Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII
PS2 Star Wars: Battlefront II
PS2 Manhunt 2
PS2 Raiden III
PS2 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Just over $80 for everything.
Probably overspent on some of these, tho pretty happy with the price overall. If your area doesn't have these deals don't feel too bad -- only the XBOX games have the original case and insert, all of the Gamecube and PS2 games have a generic cover and generic case. Around half of the games don't have instructions, so for many of the titles you're essentially paying $4 for a loose disc. I lucked out and got a complete copy of Doom 3 in the collector's tin, pretty stoked on that one.

Great deal. I got Lego Batman for $4. It didn't even have any rental stickers plastered all over the place.
