In 5 days 16,000 libraries across the United States will celebrate National Gaming Day, paying respect to video and board games: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/national-gaming-day-heads-to-libraries/
It's a nice gesture and all, but none of my local libraries(that I know of) have even started getting video games to rent:|

Do people even go to libraries anymore? Seriously, how have they stayed relevant in the Internet age?

easily you can't beat actually holding and reading a book. Do you read novels online? What about when you have no power? My local library is doing very well and expanding.

I suppose I forgot about that aspect of the library - checking out books to read. No, I don't read novels online. I read the news online, but for novels and manuals, I prefer the real deal. To me, the primary function of a library was for research, which is so much more easily done online today.

actually, i am kind of a nerd, libraries don't entertain me. video games in a library entertain me, so rock on for libraries. they get the gold star for the day.

The Library around here is always packed. It is huge and even has a small coffee shop that sells food & drinks. It is filled with Moms with small children.

I wish my library would do this, but they probably won't.

I think the Sheboygan library already did it. Could be wrong. It pretty much was going to be a couple of wii systems and simple stuff hooked up.
