Sega has announced that the Japanese-bound Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Sonic World Adventure, better known elsewhere in the world as Sonic Unle- wait, why is he a werewofl?, has been delayed until Spring 2009. According to the game's website (http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicWorldAdventure/) (translation via our friends at Siliconera (http://www.siliconera.com/2008/11/10/sega-delaying-ps3x360-sonic-unleashed-to-improve-quality-but-only-in-japan/)), the delay is to "further improve the quality of the game." The Wii version is purportedly still on track for December 18.

Not to worry, North American gamers, your Sonic experience won't be delayed or hampered by pesky quality improvements. Sonic Unleashed is coming out here next week.

This game is going to be a disaster.

I wonder why exactly the Wii version isn't delayed as well. Maybe its a Sega hearts Wii thing? Eh, I doubt it.

Why they choose to do this at 30FPS instead of 60FPS is just beyond me. It looks all eye candy, not much more than that.

It may still surprise me, but so far I am not impressed at all.

I was really interested in this game until I started seeing this stuff about sonic turning into a warewolf. Does Tails turn into a Rinocerous? either way I would like to play it but I highly doubt this is one I'm going to buy. I wish it looked more appealing but its hard for me to buy sonic titles now-a-days.

I saw it running when I was at Tokyo Game Show 08 last month and I must admit it look good but like I said... the gameplay... nothing that can compare to the old days of Sonic.

And the werewolf thing... WEIRD! lol

At least they are trying to go back to the Sonic's roots. I'll give them credits for this.

The last Sonic title I bought was Sonic and the Secret Rings for the WII, what a waste of money. I played more the mini games than the actual game itself.

No amount of "quality control" will make this game not suck, IMO. It looks awful. And I say this as one of the few people who didn't hate Sonic Heroes.

His werewolf roots? I dunno... the whole thing looks ridiculous.

It's going to suck, everyone knows it going to suck, all the reviews will say that it sucks.

And then ... somehow ... Play Magazine will give it an 9 out of 10.

Well I meant going back to the roots by incorporing side scrolling parts and all...
this is all I really meant.

Because the werewolf thing... LOL... yeah ridiculous is the word!

Sonic is the new Crash Bandicoot.... Except Sonic is older than Crash by just a *few* years. Release a few good games, then kill the series, yet continue to publish more and more crap. Last I checked Crash could turn into some kind of monster by merging with other baddies to fight Neo Cortex. Sounds eerily familiar if ya ask me.

It's too bad too, the 2d part looks really good. I just picked up Sonic and the Secret rings and there's some meat on those bones. With a little polish, dropping the crappy music and a little tweaking, I really think they have something there.

I don't care. I am buying it for the 6 minutes of opening CG. The game is a bonus (just like Onimusha 3 LOL)

I think it has more to do with the fact that Wii games are supposed to suck as much as possible, so there's no reason to improve that version.

LOL!!! That made me laugh hard. It's probably true though. Yep... Dave Halverson REALLY liked him some Sonic the Hedgehog on the 360.

Everyone was trashing the game but he seemed to love it. I have yet to play it however so I can't agree or disagree. But one thing we can be sure of, like you said, is a rave review of Sonic Unleashed in Play.

Regardless, I love their mag.
