I noticed an auction up on eBay for a Laseractive with its manual and remote (no game module) at 65$ BIN with free UPS Ground shipping within the US, which is a pretty great deal. I don't have any connection to the seller, I just thought someone here might be interested.

I won for once ;) I just needed the remote control but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. My other Laseractive will be up for trade shortly.

I'm glad someone from here got it, Nitrosport!
Just so you don't think there's a problem with it when you get it - the remote is very weird when the Sega module's in (but works fine running with no modules). I suspect they cut a few corners.

Huh, I thought you had nothing to do with the seller? How do you know about the issue? Why wasn't it disclosed in the auction? It says "works perfectly" in the auction.

Sorry, I was pretty unclear. I don't know the seller - I mean Pioneer had weird design issues with the remote in general, which from what I understand is the same with all Laseractive remotes. I'm speaking from experience with my own.
Basically Pioneer for some reason neglected to let the remote control all of the system's functions while the Sega PAC (probably the NEC one too) is in. The power button no longer does anything, you can eject the tray but not close it back in, and the pause button pauses at a blank screen instead of freeze-framing. Those functions are controllable by the Sega controller and the player's front panel; they work normally with the remote when there's no PAC inserted. Since the remote was also used for a few other models, maybe they just neglected to design it to play nicely with the PAC, or just assumed that people would be using the game controller in place of the remote.

Ah, I see. Well I've never owned a Laseractive that had the remote. Mine were always missing it. I'll test my current Laseractive and the one that I'm getting with that remote and see what happens.
