Destructoid has a neat post about a gamer whose condition prevents him from using a standard video game controller. With the help of a company called GimpGear, which markets devices for people with limited mobility, he designed and built a custom input device that makes use of fingers, toes, and even sips or puffs of air to control his favorite games. Pictures and a video of the setup are both available in the post.http://games.slashdot.org/slashdot-it.pl?from=rss&op=image&style=h0&sid=08/11/12/0554239 (http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/11/12/0554239&from=rss)

GimpGear? Man, what a company name that is, given their proficiency.

Calls it like they sees it, I guess.

I'd love to have that one-handed controller (http://www.gimpgear.us/onehanded.htm) for my daughter (she's a hemi-kid), but $249 is pretty steep. There's also this unit (http://www.edimensional.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=143&osCsid=4f59b5c8f77963ffbd7f427f0a6729aa) designed by Ben Heckendorn himself , costs half as much and is wireless. (/fumbles for credit card...)
