Well. Some new story from me.
I won some pretty expensive game from a seller (315+$).

Prologue: there was no real picture in the auction but seller told me his camera died and he was bidding on one on ebay as well. Also he responded very fast and answered all questions good. Was very helpful. He also has 350+ 100% positive feedback.

Well i won it. Next morning he emailed me that "if payment won't be in next 6 hours then shipping can be delayed". When i woke up i went to the ATM and later that day paid and also asked him what he meant about delay. He didn't respond.

After two days he responded and told me he will surely ship it and provide tracking number.
It was on 29th of October.

Since that time i had no game, no response.
I emailed him several times and asked maybe something happened and also told him i will have to open a paypal dispute if i won't get it soon. NO response yet.

I've reported to ebay and also opened paypal dispute. No reaction.
Any clues? Should i wait more or file a claim?

The problem is that it was a steal for that price i won(usually sells for twice more i guess) and at the same time i cannot wait for eternity , cause these were my last money.

Link!

I think you are a magnet for bad sellers...kinda like me being a magnet for people who don't buy anything and just ask questions like there is no tomorrow (at Sears). :p

Nah, just kidding. But if you can provide a link, that would rock. The seller seemed a bit desperate at first, which worries me. Also, it's only been a little over 10 days, and my guess is that the seller is from the US, right? When I get packages from the UK, it takes from 2-4 weeks.

Anything else the seller said?

Btw, LINK!!! :)

PM'ed you a link. Yes seller is from the USA.
Kinda yes, i have bad luck recently... Some stuff is nowhere to be seen. I had two unpaid strikes for some weird reasons...I paid and got nothing.. i paid and sellers ripped me twice on shipping... huh...

Pm'ed back. :)

It's the "new and improved" Ebay, unfortunately. I've seen more bad sellers recently (in the last two months) than all the years I've been on Ebay (since 1999).

That would be because eBay pissed off all the good sellers so much that they left.

When they hiked all the fees a lot of sellers left. Scammers can still make a profit though, so they all stayed.

Congrats again eBay.

I'm about to get banned for not paying my fees. I set up a direct debit two months ago to pay them automatically. Ebay sent me an email to confirm that my bank had approved it, and that they would collect the fees that way effective immediately. However they didn't - they kept trying to bill my credit card, which I had closed.

Now they're threating me with "collection action" over the unpaid fees - but I can't get anything better than a completely irrelevant cut & paste answer to anything I reply to them with about why they aren't collecting the fees by direct debit as they said they would.

They're a mess. I hope they go to the wall.

I had to threaten a non-paying bidder report on some guy to have him pick up his printer fusers. I had him come to my office to pick them up despite it being a personal sale - I will NEVER do pick ups again.

So some guy shows up and uses a visa to pay for it "because it says on the door you take visa" - so now I have to sort it all out in the accounting system.

Fucking idiot with 4 feedback.

NEVER again.

Did you by any chance read, when you send a message through ebay how long it will take for a response? After sending it says "Your question has been sent to -------.
You should get a response within - business days.
A copy of your question is in your My Messages "Sent" folder."

Above is the exact wording, note the ---- is your persons ebay username. Also the other - is how long it should take to receive a response.

I will NEVER do pick ups again.

Yeah, I stopped local pick-ups myself a few years ago. It seemed like it only brought out the crazies in the area. The last straw was when I sold a beat-to-ass Buffalo Bills jacket to someone for $3 who said he'd pick it up instead of paying for shipping. I sighed and said okay.

He showed up like 3+ hours late (nighttime instead of late afternoon), gave me three of the dirtiest singles I've ever seen, then tried hanging out with me on my porch. He seriously wouldn't leave on his own. I literally had to say "OK, I'm going in the house now" while shutting the door in his face. He was creeping around the perimeter of the house and right as I was about to call the cops, he finally walked to his car to leave.

All for three bucks. Yeah, not worth it. I do personally deliver stuff if it's in my immediate area (but they still pay shipping), however.

This is why I always pay them with PayPal - there should be a link somewhere in the fee payment area. If your PP account is tied to your bank (or if it has sufficient funds) then they shouldn't complain.

That's pretty funny. :D

Must have sucked then, though. Oh, and what happened to that other story with the three negs in one week?

I wanted to set up an automatic payment that I was in control of. If I want to cancel a direct debit, can just cancel it online. As my experience demonstrates, if I wanted to stop paying with a credit card then the only way I can do that is if I cancel the card - otherwise eBay will just keep taking the payment from the card anyway!

Anyway. I've given up selling on eBay anyway, due to their completely ridiculous fee and policy changes over the last year. Glad to see the back of them. If they want their fees then I have given them more than enough information for them to collect them. If they can't even be bothered to give me a decent response, I'm not going to go to the effort of sorting out the mess that they've created.

I had a situation where I won a few CB radios from a guy that was about to go on vacation. Radios show up, I only have 2 out of the 4 that I won. I try contacting the guy, but he had already left and said he would take care of it when he got back in two weeks. About four weeks later and after numerous attempts at communication, I had given up. About that time, the same radios appeared in an auction with a page exactly like the old one, only under a different user name. After contacting that guy, come to find out he was the first guy's brother. The first guy died in a plane accident while touring Africa. We let them know what happened with the auction (there were several other people in the same boat) and they put us in contact with the people handling his estate and they made everything right. The guys's feedback looked quite similar to the guy you're dealing with, over 300 positives (with the only negatives coming after he had died).

The last three feedbacks she got were negative. She never appeared on Ebay again.

I fear something bad happened... :(

The exact same thing happened to me not long ago. It wasn't as expensive, I won a Sega CDX and some games for approx $100.00. Before I won, the seller responded to a few questions I had, I won the auction and he even left positive feedback. But that was it. He didn't ship it, he didn't respond to any subsequent inquiries about when he was going to ship it, I don't know what happened to him - he just dropped off the face of the Earth.

Anyway, I made a dispute, then a claim. I don't think he responded to paypal either, because they quickly found in my favour (about a week). Good news is that I got all my money back :)

So, I wish you the best with resolving your claim.

The listing is very fuzzy, the description is not what you expect from a 350+ feedback seller; he could at least explain about the picture.

Hope you can get the game, but will be better to get your money back because it can be a resealed games, the title says plastic but not factory sealed.

Best luck !!!!

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.

We were able to recover $342.51 USD and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

Oh yes and it's not the last refund i'm working on!
I realized that November is the worst month on ebay!
sealed Vagrant Story that i bought - never arrived.
sealed grandia 2 + evolution = never arrived.
Last year i lost about 4 packaged in November. I think usps is greatly overloaded this month. Better not buy anything.

This happens alot during the Xmas season.

That is why I make sure I use insurance and delivery confirmation. Make sure they don't loose any packages. When I do that, everything turns out great. :)

Final Fantasy VII has increased too much its value after ADVENT CHILDREN ... i remember 2 years ago in Monterrey, Mexico that finding a sealed copy was as easy as going to the super market to pick up one.

it costed 150 pesos ... like 10 usd :P

i bought at least 10 sealed copies, hehehe ... shame that i sold 8 of them at 30 usd :S

I doubt it. Ebay only suspends sellers who have star ratings of 4.3 and less. This guy doesn't even have 10 selling transactions. They could care less about other nonsense. You could list an auction that says "I AM GOING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT SHIP THE ITEM," do exactly that, and ebay wouldn't care as long as your star ratings were adequate.

That would be interesting. If a group of people set up a few shills where somebody would build a reasonably rated account, do something absurd like that, the shill buyer then files a complaint and this group did it two or three times and gauged Ebay's response. If there isn't a reasonable response then that would be some interesting news for some websites that report on internet related news. It might be enough to force Ebay to shape up.
