I ordered four of these a few days ago and they arrived today:

They work great! This is the exact same connector used in the USA TurboDUO (and all Japanese PC-Engine related consoles), and at $1.47 each, you can't beat it. I even hooked two of the together and then to the gamepad and was able to play Air Zonk from the furthest end of the couch :) Awesome...

Hey, thanks for the tip! I hate how short the Duo cables are, so I'll definitely get some of these.

Yeah, I modded a DUOtap to work on my Turbografx 16, so that way I can use some of those exclusive gamepads (Avenue 6..etc) on a standard USA TG16. After getting the Avenue 6 pad, I was amazed at really how short the Japanese controller cables are (3 ft or so?)...terrible! Those Japanese kids back in the day had to have vision issues, as according to the cable you would have to sit right in front of the set! Well, at least I did until grabbing these extensions :)

Short cords are the norm in older Japanese machines, and why the original 1983 model Famicom has hardwired controllers.

The average Japanese gamer's playing space is very minimal since Japanese houses are small, and they usually sit on the floor when they play.
