I can't believe we don't have a Maplestory thread...? I searched and found one from 2004 about the Beta... but figured there was no reason to bump that.

So, who plays it? I played it a ton from Nov last year till about March but then got bored of it. Started up again yesterday since they just released the new Pirate character class!

My characters (Mardia): Egzrfun lvl 42 Warrior, garrrrrrrr lvl 29 Pirate

Maplestory and Diablo II are the only MMORPG's that I play, never tried WoW, Rag, etc... not interested. I'm old skool :p

Ragnarok online has a releases as early as 2001 :|

Maple story is as only as early as 2003.

Diablo II is only 2000. I know it's splitting hairs, but there you go.

Oh word so you play Meridian 59 and stuff? lol, yea maplestory kind of rubbed off on me as one of those web based games that you need to respond to advertiser offers to actually get anywhere in. Feel free to correct me on that, just didnt really feel like a game for the sake of being a game.

:? Strange. My brother's girlfriend plays it on her 1.2GHz Celeron laptop!

As for having to buy things to get anywhere; no. You don't have to spend ANY cash on the game if you don't want to. You can buy Nexon cash ($1 per 1 Nexon cash) to buy clothes, emotions, perks, etc in the game, but it isn't necessary.

My wife plays Maple Story like crazy....probably more than I play everything I have. She's been playing it for about 3 years now.

I play a smattering of Archlord myself...but very rarely.

Here's the system requirements:
Intel Celeron 500 MHz CPU
64 MB RAM
750 MB hard disk space (depends on version),
Internet connection
Direct3D support

If your computer's ram is taken up by this, then it might be conflicting with a driver or program.

I'd like to try it out, but they won't let me register a character on the international server--I'd have to play it in Korean. It's huge here though--all my students play it.

I love Maple. :D
Not to knock maple etc but La Tale is also quite fun.

I have a Level 52 Warrior and Level 52 Archer in Maple. I am currently playing a lot more La Tale. I have a Level 63 Explorer and a Level 46 Warrior. If anyone wants to join a guild in La Tale let me know. I am the founder of ScissorMeTimbers :D (South Park reference).
