Magicbox (http://www.the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm) has reported this:
SNK NeoGeo has revealed some new info on their latest game software:
* King of Fighters 3D (PS2) - the game will be heading to PS2 this December, the first 3D KOF fighting game specifically designed for PS2.
* Metal Slug 5 (Arcade) - the game will remain in 2D like the predecessors
* SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos (Arcade, PS2, Xbox) - the game will be hitting arcade in June, a PS2 port is planned for this winter. a possible Xbox version will be coming as well.
* King of Fighters 2003 (Arcade) - the game will be released in arcade by the end of the year, a PS2 version is scheduled for a 2004 release.
* Metal Slug 3 / Metal Slug 4 (PS2) - Both games will be coming to PlayStation 2 in October and winter 2003 respectively.
* King of Fighters 2001/2002 (PS2) - SNK will release both games in one package in US later this year.

I know that there are enough Neo-Geo fans here to be interested.

Actually, I heard that its 2k1/2k for PS2 in a pack. You preorder 2k1 and you get 2k along with it.

I'd be all about this if it's US releases, since 2k is my favorite series.

From what I can tell, they are bringing these over to the US. I don't really care about KoF2k/2k1 since I have the DC versions and will have the MVS soon. But Slug 3 and 4 will be great if they release them here. I already have Slug 3 homecart, but the extras will be worth getting the PS2 version. And since I've heard Slug 4 is a bit subpar, I'd rather spend 50 on a PS2 version than 200 for the MVS or homecart.

What sort of extras are going to be included in the PS2 Slug 3 and 4?

Not sure on the extras, but I remember PSX Slug X having some sort of extra mode.

Metal Slug 3/Metal Slug 4 - Both Metal Slug 3 and Metal Slug 4 are headed to the US in October and winter 2003, respectively. Along with Metal Slug 5, that's a lot of Metal Slug!
:rocker:
edit: Someone who got the Slug 3 import says a little bit about the extras here - http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=004893

Dunno yet Kaine. Maybe pre Neo Geo SNK games?
What I would like to see is compilations of Neo Geo fighting games released for Xbox live. If they put out all 4 Samurai Shodown's on one disc and had online play, my brain would melt.
Or both Last Blade's, the Real Bout's, or even older KoF's. God damn that would be sweet.

You know you wanna trade me Super Spy for it.
Yeah, the PSX port of Viewpoint stinks all the way around. I find it a bit more playable than most, but not by much.

Wow, just the idea of a Metal Slug 5 sounds really good.
Even X was awesome. Yeah, we can consider that the weakest, right?

Whatchutalking'bout Willis? X was excellent. 4 is the weakest link, IMHO.

Never tried out 4, so I was afraid somebody'd say that.
A few things about X make it less than the best IMO. I still played it twice through once, so I'm certainly not saying it's "Bad!"

This is without a doubt, the best news to come out from E3. I'm glad to see that Playmore is finally making moves to expand beyond the MVS, AES, and DC markets and attempt to reach the broader masses. And I hope that Playmore does more than re-release the old SNK licenses.....how about a NEW Ikari Warriors? That would so own.
I also think that this is gonna be the official signal to AES owners that the system is going to be on its last legs very, very soon.

A new Neo Geo AES would be nice ;O
But let's be realistic. If Playmore is nice, we'll have some great new games to help boost the GameCube and XBOX, sadly underrated due to their lack of quality approachable titles.

While you're at it, let's get an update for Magician Lord. I've been waiting for quite a while now!

I don't think they will be supporting the GC.
I read something about it, don't have the link though. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/images/smiles/new_all_coholic.gif

Uh, roger that. I have the Metal Slug X in my 6-slot MVS, and it rocks. I have never played 4, but X definitely has the goods.
