View Full Version : 7800 game just doesn't want to work.

Okay, so when I put in my copy of Galaga in my 7800, the Atari logo shows up, but then the screen either just goes completely black, or the screen just turns into a moving pattern of diagonal lines.

The cartridge is perhaps the least dirty Atari game I've ever seen. It literally looks like I took it out of the shrinkwrap and it still doesn't work. Other games work, by the way.

Any ideas?

It's probably a Pal copy and some are known to not work on NTSC consoles.

Did you try the cart in another Atari system?

How can you tell if it's a PAL copy?

A "P" sticker somewhere on it. Great, huh? No sticker doesn't mean not PAL though, I've got a few PAL 7800 carts here without a sticker on them.

Nah, just the normal NTSC "CX7805" cartridge. Too bad because I like the 7800 version of Galaga even better than the arcade version.

Meh, at least I still have Galaxian on the 2600. Might try it after cleaning the system itself later.
