I totally wrote this game off at first but after watching some gameplay videos on YT, the cover songs don't sound THAT bad. Plus this deal kinda makes me want to get it now.

Konami's new Rock Revolution game is $29.99 at Best Buy now. If you order online, there's an option to select a free $15 gift card during the checkout screen. And shipping is free. Game is supposed to be compatible with RB and GH instruments too.

Hmm... not a bad price, but after getting RB2, the bastardized localization of Guitar Freaks just doesn't interest me at all.
If they had released GF for PS2 5 years ago, it would have been awesome, but now, it's just... lame.
*le sigh*
I do, however, remember wanting to import it after playing GF 8 at an arcade in Montreal in '04, but didn't due to lack of availability of official guitar controllers. Oh well.

Are they ever going to actually release the drum controller for that game?

So is there a way to use the $15 directly during purchase?

If not, somebody that already has a $15 should trade me and I will give you my code after I purchase.

Yeah, I saw it at Sam's Club last week. Think it was $111 for the game + drum there (which looked a lot like the DrumMania Konami official controller). Thought it was kind of strange that they aren't releasing a guitar controller for it but I guess they figure everybody owns a GH/RB guitar by now anyway, it'd be pointless to try and sell one.

You can't use the $15 gift card towards the purchase. Looks like they ship it to you separately. There's a list of other games that you can buy to get the free gift card too. I rmember seeing Ninja Gaiden (360) and Pure...can't remember the rest.

I just realized that this isn't even an official Bemani game either. How Konami can do that to one of their music games, I can't even comprehend. I have a $20 BB gift card burning a hole in my pocket anyway, so I'll get this.

This is a good deal, if I could find a way to somehow use the code towards my purchase, hehehe.

If you buy it, let me know, because I will buy your code off of you, and then you can buy my code from me or something so we turn out even :)

I could probably do that. I don't know how long the offer is good for though and how long it'll take for the $15 gift card to arrive since it's being shipped separately I think.

Good news for the Bemani fans though, I've heard My Only Shining Star Remix, Model DD8, a new Des-ROW song and two songs by Daisuke Kurosawa are available as dlc ($1.50 individually or $5 as a pack). If Konami was smart, they'd flood XBL with Guitar Freaks & Drum Mania track packs then RR might actually sell some copies.

Um, does anyone know if the Wii version was released ANYWHERE?

Just checking. I haven't seen any place that has it in stock. :\
