I was at Wal-Mart and was glancing at some games on sale and wondered if anyone here had played a couple of them. One was the first rodeo-type game I've come across...specifically, it's called PBR: Out of the Chute and deals with bull-riding. It's made by Crave. I looked it up at Amazon and see they have it for $5 less than Wal-Mart. According to the one person who reviewed it, you can play either as the rider...or as the bull. Another game I was wondering about was a Civil War game. There are now two...the first is officially titled The Civil War: A Nation Divided...this game has The History Channel connected to it. I seem to recall this didn't get very good reviews but I noticed a follow-up is now out, The Civil War: Secret Missions...and wonder if that one is any better. It's obviously not quite like most FPS games since the rifles they used back then were only good for one shot at a time...:rockets:

Well I bought the Civil War: A nation divided when it first came out. My opinion was that it was way to short and kind of sucked overall. I can't imagine the second one being much better IMHO.

Here's a review of the Wii version, which other than the controls, should be similar:

Well, they didn't think much of the bull-riding game so I figure I'll pass...which I was leaning towards anyway. I'll likely also skip either Civil War game...

It would have been awesome if you could jump the barriers and attack fans as the bull. Trampling the rider and clowns sound fun, but no GORE option? That sucks.
If there were a story line, I wonder how the bull's story line would end?
"Well bull, you threw off a lot of riders, but you're old and no good to us anymore." *shotgun blast*

I reviewed the second Civil War title for the 360. Can't imagine it's much different on the PS2.

Yeah, that game doesn't seem very good either...even though the PS2 version is only $30, it's probably not worth it. Guess I'll stick with my WW2 games...

History Channel: Civil War
History Channel: Battle for the Pacific
History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions
and The History Channel: Great Battles of Rome (which is a Europe and Australian game only)

Civil War: A Nation Divided is fun, if short.

Civil War is crap. Plain and simple. The guns, no matter what you are shooting all have the same damage, and are 'perfect' shots. Within a very short period of time in each level you'll have moved from the Musket to some kind of gun that has an ability to store ammo and not need to reload between shots. It doesn't help that its not historically accurate in the fact that the reload animations have been sped up to about 1/6th what it would take to reload a shot.
My other big complaint is that the game is played by watching your target cursor.... see red, shoot. The bullet will hit them. 2 rounds and they are dead. Rinse, repeat.
