Ambient details, such as weather effects, and some impressive elements in the background, such as a massive R.O.B. the Robot, which absolutely dwarfs you and your opponents, definitely help the game's sense of scale.

The worst thing is that it's a clone of F-Zero X.
Ah well, at least we got the SNES-style GBA game.

On the other hand, the best part of this game is that its a clone of X.
Plus its faster @_@
As cool as the original F-Zero was, the crazy tracks in X will always make me like it loads more. Well that, and the multiplayer mode, and the mass numbers of new cars, and the speed, and the soundtrack...anything that repeats that, and adds in a custom car mode (better have the create a track from the F-Zero X disk drive thingie), well, I just can't imagine that being bad.

Amen to that. F-Zero X was an amazing game; probably the only standout racer to escape from Wipeout's shadow. Give me those wonderfully twisting tracks and blinding speed anyday. The new FZ looks to be even better. Now, if Nintendo only had the horse-sense to offer online play -- a 40-player race would be just about perfect.

Totally. And F-Zero X's random course designer was brilliant with 2-4 competent players. The whole series has been killer, and the GBA version is a great update to the SNES version.
