As the title says, whats the average going rate for the black Sega Dreamcast sports edition?

Well that was a quick turn about! :D

The lowest on eBay sold for 26.00$ with a few extras. (No shipping included in that price)

Honestly I think it was just an unusual low and the system itself with the controller should go for 15-20$

I remember them going up in value. I bet you could get a little more than the value of the average white DC.

Some doofus is trying to sell one on Yahoo Japan for over $200. And no, it's not the Pure Black LE, it's a bog standard US Sports Edition. Been there for over a month, too.

Sheesh.

I paid $53.49 tax included, at a store near me. they had both the white and sports. The white was $30.99 & the sports was $49.99. I did pricing on ebay first and I found $49.99 a steal for the price. I believe only 10,000 were made

Please don't try and spread horribly false information like that.... The system was available everywhere for 2 sports 'seasons' (NBA 2K/NFL 2K and NBA 2K1/NFL 2K1/ WSB 2K1) worth of pack in games. They didn't release 10,000 of them. It was far far far more than that.

The system because its black, is slightly in more demand. I've seen them sold for the 'going' rate of a DC and for a slight premium of $5-15 bucks depending on the place.

After 5 tries I still couldn't get the first link to load, but judging by the second link it looks like the Hitman just wacked another victim. So I guess $40 would be a fair price to start the bidding at but I could ask for more if I added some games.

I didn't really look too hard, but neither site lists where they got info from. The internet is not always true :)

Not only is there no backing source, as I said in my post, there was two waves of Sega Sports bundles. A 2K set, and a 2K1 set. Those systems were everywhere. Your first link also claims it was released only as a 2K sports bundle.

Both used the exact same shells, and to only make 10,000 bundled units like that? Thats just preposterous. I had no trouble coming across the NFL 2K/NBA2K or NBA 2K1/NFL 2K1/WSB 2K1 Not For Resale games when I went for them as I was building my complete Dreamcast games collection. If there were only 10k copies of those games (combined by this math) I would have had a much harder time trying to get any of them and they would have cost way more than the 5 bucks I paid a game (if I spent that much).

I know this is somebody else's thread, but it is the same thing.

About how much would 1 go for complete (box and games included)?

That same website is claiming the R7 DC only had 2000 units produced - so, no way is it accurate.

10,000 Sega Sports packs? Seems off by a factor of 10.

I approve this message from PapaStu. Around here a standard DC is $15-20 and the sports edition is $25-30, hook-ups included with at least one controller.

10,000 units appears to be off IMO too. I've seen too many over the years in ratio to white units, and 100,000 does appear to be a better estimate.

I remember picking up mine at a Game Crazy a few years ago for $25. Of course, now I can't find my black controller.

I find the system more frequently than the controller, so I suspect they had a great deal of wear leaving most discarded when the system is traded-in or sold. Some local stores here will hold off on selling a system until a black controller comes in to pair it up, others just don't care.

Maybe I should sell the controller by itself.
