Poll?

I love the Saturn game and it's been forever since I played the Playstation as a rental at a friends house. The Saturn game has slow-down as sides fill up and I don't recall this so much in the Playstation release (and others claim it doesn't slow). But I prefer the Saturn controller over the Playstation. Aside from those two and a lack of experience behind the PSX release, and a resistance to purchase due to my satisfaction with the Saturn: I go for the Saturn port.

I've got the psx version. There's no slowdown.

I prefer the Dreamcast edition because it's got X/Y/Z modes.

Anything but the buggy GBA version is fine by me.

Why do you say it's buggy? I had a great time with it...

I've actually just played the Arcade, PSN HD version....and the awful GBA port.

Been interested in picking up the Saturn one...

I hadn't noticed much of a differance between the two and I played the heck out of both games back in the day (I was splitting my time between two homes and I had a console in each).

What's wrong with the GBA version? I played the crap out of that, too.

Maybe I'm not very observant.

The Neo-Geo version in Windows with Kawaks. :p

Ever try the official Windows port? It's kind of uncommon.

I preferred the PSX port. The Saturn one will slow down a hair when there's intense action (i.e. a super move coming with the other opponent clearing a lot at the same time as well).

Also, I'll be damned but in the PSX version it's MUCH easier to win with the flash. On Saturn, no matter how big a combo I get and I think woo hoo here comes the flash end attack, my attack doesn't kill the opponent.

That's annoying. I SWEAR the PSX default offensive system is stronger than Saturn Puzzle Fighter's

I have the win port kicking around somewhere (disc-only) - it runs great save for that whole "only works in 320x200 windowed mode" part. :/

I remember I downloaded a version of this years and years and years ago. It was hacked so that the female characters were nude. Even at the time I thought this was gross given that all the characters are super-deformed.

I was going to say, where's the Dreamcast option in this poll? I must agree with comments on Dreamcast, although if that's not option I would agree with comments about slowdown and other points mentioned by Steven. For me the best part about Dreamcast is near total elimination of loading and having sound test. The game is alright too, heheh.

I'd like to hear more about the Windows version, although that resolution sounds like a killer.

The GBA version has a tendancy to freeze up at certain points in the game, sometimes corrupting the save file.
Just trying to skip through the obscene number of splash screens on startup can make it lock up.
It really isn't bad otherwise, but unless there is a newer revision out there without the glitches, I'd avoid it.

Yeah I picked that one up a few years ago fo 5 bucks. To tell the truth I can't tell the difference between any of them.

Really weird about the GBA having glitches; I didn't see any, and I played it for hours to unlock everything and beat the game on hardest difficulties...I mean the hard drop was added, so it's not a perfect port, but I always like a hard-drop in puzzle games...

There's probably a later revision without those bugs, then.
Both copies that I owned had them, though.

Really? I wonder if there's a way to tell the revisions apart from each other, if there are in fact multiple revisions.
