I am not sure if this is frowned upon or not on these boards but if so please accept my apology in advance.

Every year me and my wife adopt a couple of families for the holidays that are less fortunate. We have been doing this for about 5 years now. For anyone who does not know how this works the family you adopt supplies a Christmas/wish list and we go out and purchase necessities and items for the family. Mostly it is clothes for the kids and a few gifts. Here is a link for info http://www.voami.org/

Anyways, this year one of the families has a couple of boys (10 and 12) and they are really into their gameboy. They own the original (the big fat one, can you say puke yellow) and i guess it has a cracked screen. On their list they have gameboy games.

I plan on getting them 2 Gameboy colors that i am donating out of my collection with about 6-8 games. I have some friends that are donating some games as well as a game shop locally that is throwing in some games.

I was hoping if anyone wants to be a part of this and has any old duplicate, common GB/GBC games they are willing to part with and donate to the cause i would like to get large box of games to present to them as part of their gifts. Just imagine when you were a kid if you were presented with a big box full of games. I would have gone nuts.

Once i get all the games together i will take pictures and post them. I am hoping to get between 80-100 games

If anybody is wants to be part of this or wants more information you can send games to the address below or send me a PM through here. Shipping should be cheap.

Thanks!

Hi Tony,

It's not really "frowned upon" and, in fact, the DP folks have adopted families in the past and have buried them with goodies. But the fact is that - even with your good intentions - "send me free stuff" posts are often met skeptically.

I wish you well, and consider this a free bump, but please don't be disappointed if this doesn't pan out here on the board the way you hoped. I'll see if I can get my hands on a few original games for you. Good luck.

Yeah, i have already gave that some thought, thats why i figured i would at least put up some pictures of the process during and afterwards. This way anyone who donates can see the results of their donations and efforts.

No disappointment here. Anything anyone donates here would be just an added bonus. I have collected about 45 games as of right now from other sources and myself.
