This is a thread I never thought I would start.

So I was going to get myself a complete ngpc today from the bay, and low and behold, nothing in my price range that was ntsc (i am not spending 100 for it).

instead, i have no clue why, i bid on a v-smile. it makes me curious, where can i get a game list for this?

i would love to be the obscure person who has every v-smile game. i am already on that route by having a ntsc vb and n-gage fullset.

if you know of a place that has a gamelist for this, do not be shy

V-Smile games are more educational and geared towards kids up to about age 7 infact my 7 and 9 year old girls don't even touch theirs anymore. I should probably sell them on ebay. They just play Mario Kart on the DS instead.

My point is that I don't think it's considered a real game system like we are use to referring too. You won't find V Smile games at Gamestop. nor will you find a list of their games on gamefaqs

For that matter, does anybody remember Socrates? It was another edutainment device that came out in the late 80's. My cousin had one and I used to play it all the time over there. The wireless keyboard/control pads were kind of a pain, but it was a cool little gizmo. The titular Socrates was a robot that looked like a Johnny-5 knockoff.
I can't be the only one here who remembers this, right?

Yes yes, I know that it will suck butt to find games for it, but I think it would be interesting to end up with a v-smile fullset.

I also know it is meant for kids (kinda like the pico).

I wasn't kidding. $21 with shipping, hahaha. New in box.

I did find this:
http://www.vtechuk.com/products-and-accessories/v-smile/learning-games/

I am just unsure if this is all of then, or just the ones that the company is current selling off of their website.

Hahahaha. I know. I don't have any kids. I don't even have a girlfriend. I bid on it thinking I would not win, but bid for fun. I actually bid $12.50 for it, and got it for $11.

Hahahaha.

These go for like $40 on craigslist. If there is no way to collect the games, then it is a x-mas gift to somebody, but if it is possible to collect, well, i guess then I have a v.smile.

The only thing that makes me look bad is teh fact that I randomly decided to search for this while I was shopping for a ngpc. Don't hurt me. I sorta accidently spent most of the money i budgeted out for my ngpc as well (I was going to try and get a nice one for about $30, now I have to try to get one for $9, which won't happen, hahaha).

Yeah, I bid on it, and then realized that I might actually win it, and then made the post about games. Wow, that is what I call an out of the blue impulse buy, hahaha

I'd make fun of you, but I have lots of Socrates, Children's Discovery System, Whiz Kid, ComQuest, etc, etc, carts; not so many systems though. I haven't picked up any of the V-Smile (etc) stuff yet, but... it does tempt me at times. They even have a newer system that takes CDs instead of cartridges, AND a portable system. Whee!

I grabbed a brand new blue camo NGPC for $10 on eBay a few years ago, so it can be done.

Nobody with V-Smiles have girlfriends, dude. Nobody. Ever. This is not a coincidence.

For all intents and purposes this IS a console. Not a very collectible one, but a console nonetheless.

This is funny. I have a friend that comes over and she has a little boy. Hes almost 3. He comes over and always wants to plat with my games. We kinda let him but he cant realy even play them. But for Xmas i was thinking about getting him one of these. I was at Target but all they had were portable ones. He's 3 hed brake that thing quick. I do run into these games at resale shops here in SD. I was talkin to someone if these a "collectable" the other day. Go for it and Good luck!

You can get the games from walmart and most retail outlets.

I have one with about 6 games I had bought for my son. I got all of that at a discount store new for about $40 .

Why are you worried about being able to find games? Go to ANY WalMart, Target, Toys R' Us and go into the kiddie toy aisles. They sell those games there. Lots of them. Have fun buying 20 different Thomas the Tank Engine and Dora the Explorer games.

i didn't know the availability of the games on these which ois why i was asking.

i do own barney's hide and seek, so it is not super bad. more than likely this is going to be a x-mas present to somebody instead of collecting for it.

I just saw this thread after I created a topic in the "Deals" section. I bought a brand new V.Flash(the V.smiles bigger brother) at Biglots. The system was $20 and the games were $3, extra controllers were $2. Big Lots also has a deal if you sign up for email offers, you save 25% on your purchases. Head over to the Deals section if you want more info.

As for the V.Smile, my son really likes it. He enjoys the Xbox more, but keeps going back to the V.Smile. I find the controls very laggy. It takes a half a second to jump after you press the button. Fun little system for kids and they do learn while they play.

Big lots did have a sale. These were in there ad for 20$ but I called and all but one was out. Also they were a disc system. I wanted a cart, based system for the kid. So I went on Ebay and got one of the older orange and blue? cart. systems. With 2 controllers and 6 games for 32$ It should come soon. Im totally gona play it before I give it to him for his b-day on the 3rd. Hes 3. Im excited.

I got it and played it this morning and it SUCKS! I was playing Spiderman and Friends. You can switch between Spiderman, Spidergirl(?) and Wolverine. I played the first level and I was Wolverine (of course) and you go around picking up trash. I was like take that guy who's littering. It was awsome. So funny. I also tried the Carebears. Uh yeah. These are good for the little kids. All the text is spoken! They don't even do that in Wii games! Hope he likes it. Oh yeah his b-day is on the 8th.

I've got a V.Smile in my house. I think it's a great little machine.

SNESy graphics. And games I don't mind my 4 year old playing (which he *loves* to do). As much as I enjoy playing Lego Star Wars with him on my 360, I enjoy watching him tackle the Diego game and solving puzzles by pattern matching *much* more.

I think they make games for all sorts of age groups - from about 3 up (although my kids, at 3, weren't quite ready for it yet).

If you don't have kids then you're nuts for getting one. If you do have kids and, like me, want to encourage a little gaming now so that you can enjoy time together later, it's worth the dough. My son still gets frustrated in Lego Star Wars. His V.Smile game, however, he's 'cleared' many, many times and loves going back for more! :)

I picked up Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse today. I just give them to my friends 3 year old son. Anyone know what games are rare ect. Probably not. When I was in DE I saw new ones in target 20$. I found these 2 open but still in package 3.99. Not bad. Hope he likes them.
