Metal Slug 7

For those who have played the new metal slug, what do you think? Is it worth picking this one up? Does it live up to the series name? Thoughts?

HG101 has a review here (http://www.hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/metalslug/metalslug2.htm). It seems to suggest that the game is not so hot.

Lack of 2-player mode is a huge strike against it IMO.

Otherwise it's Metal Slug ... and it's pretty much what you'd expect.

If you only have a DS, and you don't mind a 1 player Metal Slug experience, it's worth it.

If you have a PSP, pick up Metal Slug Anthology instead.

I'll let ya know when I go get mine Nov 25th. Metal Slug Ann for the PSP is a no-brainer. If your even thinking about 7 for $30 might as well double down and make the whole shebang portable. :)

Yea, I've been enjoying the PS2 version of Metal Slug Anthology for a few months now. I do have a DS but probably would have bought whatever system that it came out for. That's actually how I bought my DS - I heard Contra 4 was coming out and went out and bought both.

This is one of those DS games I'd consider getting at $15-$20. The lack of any multiplayer is lame, but then again, I'd hardly play multi anyways.

I believe this is also coming to XBLA, so I'll just wait and check it out there.

I just got my copy from Amazon yesterday (or friday, i'm not sure, I didn't grab the mail till yesterday). I've just started to play it, but it feels ok so far. I'm sure the combat school stuff will keep me occupied for quite a while.
