Use Wii Classic controller on Gamecube?

The EMS Classic Linker allows you to connect either a Wii Classic Controller, or a Playstation controller to the Wii's Gamecube port.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work the same with a Gamecube console, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this device.

I have no intention of getting a Wii, but I do like the Classic Controller.

I've used a PS2-to-Gamecube controller adapters on the Wii's Gamecube ports and, yes, PS2 controllers work fine (on any games that accept Gamecube control schemes) ... so I would also assume that the classic controller would function much the same.
