I have two import PS1 games(Tobal 2, Gradius Gaiden) that I would like to be able to play on my US PS2 in component video. Is this possible to do at all?

I think the PS2 gameshark lets you... ?

Maybe not PS1 games, but worth a shot if you have one available.

First off, which PS2 do you have? Slim or Fat?
Both can play imports with a PS1 Action Replay disc. If you do not have one, there is a simple swap trick for the Slim PS2.

First, rig the system so it will play games with the cover open. Get any American game of your choice, and turn the PS2 on with the game loaded. Get your import ready.
Right when the screen swirls and goes black, pull out the American game and insert the import. The PS Family Logo will appear, and the game will boot!

Thanks for the tip. I will try the trick you mentioned with the Slim PS2 and see what happens.
