I haven't ever met one...up here in Vermont Retrogaming is not all that popular, so the possibilities of meeting a fellow Retrogamer is pretty slim. That, and there arent many retro shops up here either, so most of my browsing the "wild" is eBay... :( its very sad

I've met several local game collectors in my area. It's been a mixed bag for me, most are great people Like Old School Gamer, Mr. Smashy and N-Lightning who trade on these forums. Others have been anti-social douche bags that do dumb things like trying to poison shop keepers against you if you both have the same haunts. Fortunatley for me most of the local flea market vendors are fellow collectors and all around great people to deal with. I've heard a lot of complaints on the forums where the opposite is true so I guess I'm lucky in that respect.

Can't say that I have. Whenever I'm out looking for games, consoles or otherwise, I try to be cool and calm, whilst subduing anything that would give me away, as to fend off any awkward attempts at social interaction. Pretty typical, no?
Im supposed to sell my Atari 800XLto a fellow AtariAger, but we've been discussing it for 2 months w/out any action on his part. I PM him to ask if he's interested, we discuss meeting plans, he disappears for a week & the cycle repeats.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If I'm at a thrift store digging through a shelf of used cd's, video games or even junk like cassette tapes the last thing I want to do is make it look like I have a plan. Which is why I see lugging around price guides (which people here have admitted to doing) inside the store as the kiss of death.
Sometimes I pretend to look through stuff I never buy in thrifts like clothes, cookware, household items and shoes for a couple minutes just so I'm not completely obvious about what I am after (either video games or out-of-print movies, cd's and books).
Plus most males 20-40 who I see in thrifts by themselves want to avoid me just as much as I want to avoid them.
