I'm wondering how many of you guys have dedicated DDR setups... built mine back when DDR for the PS2 came out. Little outdated now haha

The setup consists of:

27" WalMart special TV
Technics receiver
Two giant speakers with 15" subs
Two older skool speakers with 12" subs
Metal DDR pad (rebuilt it many times!)

Pics are ass as my camera (Sony T100) hates pictures in the dark for some reason.

Those speakers are totally nuts, I can't play ddr because I don't have the room.

Here's my set up:

Not really a 'dedicated' setup but I've got a modded PS2 and Xbox with a nice 5.1 sound system, so I have access to all the imports and StepmaniaX. I plan on getting a full size cabinet someday (or at least a Solo cab).

I just started doing 9's and 10's but it's almost impossible to play them without a bar. I've been thinking about building a bar add-on for my Flux's base mod but I don't know where to start. Maybe I'll just get some PVC pipes and bolt them to a long piece of plywood.

*ENVY*

I taped a new Konami pad down to plywood. A couple weeks later the down arrow already flickers. :frustrated:

If I had the money I'd get the Cobalt Flux right now... I've been through ohhhh I dunno, like 5-6 pads altogether.

That sounds like a pretty dedicated setup to me. I had no idea that it was even possible to get a pad like that at home. I haven't been in the DDR world since like 4 years ago. I am jealous, and good luck getting the bar on there.

I have a dedicated Halo X-Box with Pump it Up: Exceed hooked up to it. No speakers or anything hooked up to it and I use the pad that came with it, but close enough for me. That DDR pad is nuts.

Yeah, there's some pretty insane home pads available now. The MyMyBox Blue Shark pad is the closest thing you can get to an arcade pad at home. And there's also the holy grail of home DDR pads - Konami ASC:

SpaceHarrier, if you want a cheap Flux, check your local Craig's List. I see them for sale every once in a while near me (usually under $200). Orange County is the DDR capital of the United States, so used CF's should be plentiful in your area. I think the factory is near there too.

The $20 black Friday one made out of paper?:p

Nice setup there, love the sound system.

haha, no, paid $125 for that TV a few years back. Looking at 37" CRT flatscreens on Craigslist... looks like I could get one for $200 or so.

Cool, I'll check it out. It's high-time I stepped it up. I am not quitting DDR anytime soon, so why not get one of the best?

edit: I just realized the huge pun I typed there. My bad.

DDR used to be huge on the west coast, especially in California. Not sure why but maybe it has something to do with the asian popluation out there. It's not as big as it was 6-7 years ago, but Orange County and Rowland Heights seemed to be the nexus of US scene. Macines are everywhere and all the arcades would have big freestyle tournaments with huge turn outs.

(I'm not in that pic, poofta. It's just one of the only pics of the Konami ASC i could find. I swear, Konami must have made under 100 of those things because finding any info on it is impossible)
